Key points of this article
  • HIGH PRAISE FOR THE SIMPLICITY OF "USING LINE" AND "ANSWERING ONE QUIZ A DAY!"
  • 'Great for learning basic parenting knowledge', and other ratings, especially for new dads!
  • One commented, "I found out that there was a gap in parenting knowledge between married couples, and it stopped being so frustrating!"

The BabyTech community, which includes parents with children aged 0-6 years and pre-parents and pre-mums who are expecting a baby and want to actively use technology such as gadgets, apps and appliances for parenting, holds a monthly 'Discover Parenting Hacks Project - Cross Review by Everyone'. -" is held.

The project aims to find 'parenting hacks' to help people enjoy parenting, and community members share their experiences of different baby tech services. Each time, members who have actually used one baby tech service post a review of the service on a special website. They then share their impressions and usage in an online roundtable discussion, which is published as a review article on BabyTech.jp.

The first issue featured in the series was the Childcare Quiz Papa Power Test ( hereafter Papa Power Test). The Papa Power Test is a free service that uses LINE to provide information on child-rearing; all you have to do is add a friend on LINE and you will receive one quiz a day on child-rearing. By answering the quiz and reading the serialised columns, you can naturally acquire knowledge about childcare. The service won a special award at the BabyTech® Award Japan 2020 powered by DNP Dai Nippon Printing.

Community members who have actually used the Papa Power Test have reviewed the service in terms of enjoyment and usefulness (numerical rating on a scale of 1 (lowest) to 5 (highest)). In addition, Yukie Takahashi, the service's developer (hereafter, titles omitted), Tetsuya Nagata, CEO of Papasmile, and community members participated in an online round-table discussion (hereafter, cross-review talk). This article is a summary of those discussions.

reviewer review score Comment.
Daisuke Inoue 5 The fact that it is sent on line and that it is one question a day is a key point of ease. I think it depends on what the main communication tool is, but for me it's the line, so I appreciate it.
New Year's papa 5 It's easy to just pop in two or three options.
Chiba (city) 5 It is sent on line, so it is easy to participate. It is good that there is no sense of coercion.
Zuki-san 5 One question each day is just right.
YOSHIE. 5 THERE IS NO NEED TO DL A NEW APP AND IT CAN BE COMPLETED ON LINE, MAKING IT EASY TO GET STARTED.
Cassis 5 YOU CAN BE PASSIVE AS YOU RECEIVE A LINE.

NAGATA: Thank you very much for your time today. I would like to start the cross review talk right away. Now, first of all, all reviewers gave a perfect score of 5 for 'ease of use'. The service was praised for its use of LINE, which many people use on a daily basis, the simplicity of receiving only one quiz per day, and the fact that all the quizzes are easy to answer with two or three choices of questions.

Takahashi: Thank you very much. I am really glad that we used LINE.
