With the introduction of English as a compulsory subject in elementary school and the boom in kindergarten and elementary school entrance examinations, interest in early childhood education has been on the rise among many parents in recent years. While a variety of companies are offering early childhood education programs, one that has been attracting particular attention is Smile Seminar Early Childhood Course by Just System Co. Originally famous for its Japanese word processing software Ichitaro and its Japanese input system ATOK, what is the secret behind the company's success in the field of early childhood education, where many long-established and well-known companies are active? All the materials necessary for children's "independent learning" are integrated into a tablet!

Editor: Can you give us a quick overview of the Smile Seminar Preschool Course?

Terao: The first feature of this product is that it is a teaching material that can be learned only with a tablet. All the materials are delivered to the tablet, which is a big difference from other companies' materials for young children that use multiple booklets and handouts. We have set up 10 areas (hiragana, katakana, words, numbers, shapes, clocks, English, pictures, daily life, and nature) as content to be learned in early childhood, and we have structured the teaching materials so that children can study all of these areas every month.

This tablet will do it all.

Kamata: When the tablet is turned on, the materials to be worked on for the day are presented as "Today's Mission," and by following them, the child can learn the 10 areas of study without bias each month. If your child makes a mistake, the system does not give him or her a fail mark, but instead encourages him or her to try again, saying, "Let's think again. After completing the day's tasks, the results are summarized on a single screen called "I did it today! on a single screen. Parents and children can look back on the day's achievements together by adding a flower mark or stamp. Today's Achievements! can also be a record of your child's growth.
