A gateway to success for childcare tech start-ups and new business development in childcare, this is the fourth year the awards have been presented to parental support services and childcare appliances.
The BabyTech® Awards 2022, a competition to recognise outstanding parenting IT products, services and childcare appliances, was held again this year, with entries being accepted from 4 July 2022.
Entries can be made via the BTA2022 website by filling in the web form or downloading the application form and sending it by email or post. The deadline for applications is 24 August 2022.
Recruitment sector expanded to promote wider awareness of BabyTech.
This year's competition has been expanded to include nine categories, with entries being accepted in the Parental Support Services category, which includes apps for mums-to-be, childcare leave personnel support and real estate search services for child-rearing households, and the Housework Efficiency category, which includes smart speakers, electric bouncers and childcare home appliances.
The expansion of the judging categories is intended to cover products and services that are familiar to parents and easy for them to imagine and adopt, such as childcare appliances, apps for parents, childcare information provision for parents and human resources support for childcare leave, in order to make the first step towards using BabyTech and to gain recognition. The aim is to make this the first step in the use of baby tech and to gain recognition.

The judging will be divided into nine categories. Please see below for the relevant categories.

Smart breastfeeding and feeding of children, including smart breastfeeding machines, smart bottles, breastfeeding room search, breastfeeding and feeding records, menu creation, allergy prevention, baby food subscriptions, smart formula, FoodTechs etc. - Children's learning and play Learn & Play

Judging schedule
After primary and secondary screening, the winning products will be announced on 26 October 2022, and the grand prize award ceremony and exhibition of the winning products will be held on 21 November within the Childcare Expo 2022 at the Tokyo International Forum.

BabyTech® Awards 2022 Qualified
The best products in each category are selected and awarded in an initial screening of documents.
Grand Prize and Exc ellence Award
The Grand Prize and Excellence Award will be selected from the products that pass the first screening (Qualified) in each category through a second screening.
After the sample products and apps have been tried and tested, and after an online presentation of each product, the jury members score each of the judging criteria items (see below) on a five-point scale, and the rankings are calculated based on the total number of points.
The Grand Prize is awarded to the first-placed product in each category, while the Prize for Excellence is awarded to the second- and third-placed products in each category.
