Raising a Child with Grandma and Grandpa from afar! ChiCaRo, a Remote Collaborative Parenting Robot|IT Enthusiast Mom: Together with Ogamari's BabyTech

Hello! I am Ogamari.

You are raising a child and you say to yourself, "I wish someone were here right now! "I wish someone other than myself was watching my child!" Have you ever thought to yourself, "I wish someone was here right now! Today, we would like to introduce you to a robot that will make your wish come true!

A robot that can co-parent with someone who lives far away!

ChiCaRo" is a robot that allows people in distant places to communicate with their infants. It is a dreamlike device that allows people who do not live together to raise children together!

My interest in using ChiCaRo was sparked by a flyer drawn by Kai Matsuda (CEO of BizScribble Inc.).

Through correspondence with Umi, I was able to connect with the CEO of ChiCaRo and was fortunate enough to be able to monitor the product!

A cute robot came to our house!

A few days after I applied to be a monitor, ChiCaRo arrived at my home!

ChiCaRo has a tablet-sized screen that allows calls to be made like a videophone. People who are far away (we named grandpa and grandma this time) can operate ChiCaRo with a tablet or PC.

It is a cute pink robot with a rounded form! It does not feel that much like a robot. It's the kind of feeling that makes you want to pet it (laughs). It looks like a snowman or Doraemon?

The photo shows grandma showing her daughter a stuffed Anpanman. Man-man!" She was so excited that she pointed her finger at it.

ChiCaRo not only has the ability to simply make calls, but also to open and close the front pocket, play games on the screen, and play sounds such as a dog's voice, all without special preparation.

ChiCaRo blends into daily life

Here's what I like about ChiCaRo!

There are two things I particularly liked about trying out ChiCaRo.

No inorganic feeling at all.

ChiCaRo can be moved back and forth, left and right, and can even be made to do the "IA-NAGA-NAGA-BA" movements, so it felt like it was "there" instead of "being" there. My daughter, who was reserved at first, began to take more and more care of ChiCaRo.

Hands-free interaction.

Until now, I had to switch between the in-camera and out-of-camera mode to keep up with my daughter's movements, but ChiCaRo allows the remote operator to freely move the camera and change the angle of view, so I can talk to her while taking care of my child. It was very convenient.

On the other hand, my daughter, who was 1.5 years old (at the time of rental), could not play with her grandfather and grandmother by herself and needed to stay with them, so I wondered if it would be better for her to wait until she was older so that she could watch them while they did chores, etc. I felt that it would be better for her to be a little older so that I could watch her while she did housework.

If you are interested in ChiCaRo, which is a strong ally of nuclear families, please check it out!

Child of the Week.

With my 2nd birthday just around the corner, the earliest days of my life are in full swing. I always ask Anpanman for help.
