It is a visible indication of the photographer's desire to "consult with us first, as we may be able to offer photography proposals that take your child's characteristics into consideration.
The purpose of this program is to make it easier for families who are concerned that they may not be able to shoot or that they may be inconvenienced by the photographer due to their previous experience or image of the photographer to consider and consult with a photographer who has a "Developmental Disorder Consultation Welcome" icon, and to meet with a photographer who has a "Developmental Disorder Consultation Welcome" icon to discuss a positive approach to shooting.

This is an online seminar for fotowa registered photographers conducted on March 20, 2023 with the cooperation of the Child Development Support Study Group, a general incorporated association.
The content of the seminar, which was designed for the time of photo shoots, included basic knowledge of developmental disabilities and how to deal with them, as well as how to communicate with parents. Participants learned about problems that are particularly likely to occur during photo shoots, preparation, advance preparation, and measures to deal with such problems, focusing on the concerns of parents and guardians. We plan to offer regular archived attendance opportunities in the future.

This is a 10-question multiple-choice test supervised by the Child Development Support Research Institute, Inc.
The test is designed to test your understanding of the elementary knowledge of developmental characteristics and how to deal with them, in conjunction with the seminar.

Background of Implementation
According to the "Results of the Survey on Children with Special Educational Needs Enrolled in Regular School Classes" released by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology on December 13, 2022, 8.8% of elementary and junior high school students with possible developmental disabilities, an increase of 2.3 points from the previous survey (2012) and The number is said to be on the increase.
In the reviews (word-of-mouth after using fotowa) that we receive on fotowa, we have seen comments such as, "I was glad to have a photo shoot tailored to my child, even though he has developmental disabilities.
We also heard that "there are things that are difficult to do in a photo studio" and "many parents have given up on photography in the first place," which led us to think that we might be able to help because fotowa offers a style of photography that is not restricted by location, namely, on-site photography.
Therefore, with the cooperation of the Association for Research and Developmental Support of Children, we conducted a survey of parents of children with developmental characteristics (*1).
The survey revealed thatapproximately 80% of the respondents had had their children photographed at a photo studio or other such facility, but that they had experienced some kind of "problem." Approximately half of the respondents said they had "given up" on photography in consideration of their child's characteristics, indicating that one out of every two children has given up on photography.
When asked, "Would you have a professional photographer take your child's or family photos if you knew in advance whether or not they would be able to consult with you about photographing children with developmental characteristics? Approximately 90% of the respondents answered "Yes" to this question. We found that families want to know in advance if they can consult with a professional photographer.
Meanwhile, a survey was also conducted among photographers who take pictures (*2).
When asked if they had ever photographed a child with developmental characteristics, 93.1% said yes, and 76.5% wanted the opportunity to learn about developmental characteristics.
We also found that 72.5% of photographers would like to be able to tell people that they can consult with them about photographing children with developmental characteristics.
Based on these two surveys, we have decided to provide learning opportunities for photographers and to start displaying a "Developmental Disorder Consultation Welcome" icon as one mechanism to facilitate the meeting of photographers who want to help and families with children who have developmental characteristics.
