Starting October 1, 2022, the new "Postpartum Dad Childcare Leave (childcare leave at birth)" program began to promote the use of childcare leave by men. With the establishment of this new system, interest in men taking childcare leave has increased.
On the other hand, when it comes time for childcare leave, many people, regardless of gender, may have a hard time balancing housework and childcare.
Panasonic Corporation therefore conducted a survey of current Panasonic employees with preschool-aged children to find out what home appliances they found useful during and after their childcare leave.
We asked about home appliances that they or their spouses found useful or would recommend during or after their childcare leave. The results of the "Overall ranking of home appliances that were useful during childcare leave" are as follows.

・外出時など隙間時間に掃除ができ効率がよく、また床に物を置かなくなったので小さい子供がいる家の中も生活導線が確保しやすくなりました
・タイマーを使用し就寝中に動かすことで、子供が掃除機に興味を持たずスムーズに部屋をきれいにできる

Various home appliances were ranked in the list, but we interviewed our employees about how home appliances actually helped them during their maternity leave.

◎We have four children and as they grow, the number of dishes increases... "Dishwasher/Dryer" is a must-have item!
I have four children, and as they grow up, the number of dishes increases, so the dishwasher/dryer is a big help. I like the fact that I can just put in the dishes, turn it on, and they are done smooth and clean.
Also, because food preferences and allergies differ among the children, preparing meals has been a challenge. My oldest son could not eat bread due to an allergy, so the home bakery that can make it with rice came in handy. It tastes great, and the whole family is happy because we can put it in at night and have freshly made bread in the morning.

◎Leave it to the "drum-type washer/dryer" to do three loads of laundry a day! Appliances are truly "manpower"!
Since there are many opportunities for clothes to get dirty in some way, the drum-type washer/dryer, which even dries the clothes if left unattended, has been a big help. Even though they are for children, many of them are large in size and can be bulky when accumulated. Also, dirty clothes cannot be left unattended, so at times we would run the washing machine three times a day. The drying process was also helpful because the clothes were used immediately after drying, eliminating the need to take them out of the machine. I like the fact that I don't have to worry about the weather, and that one machine does it all.
Without the appliances, I would have to do all these chores myself, so they helped me so much that I would say "appliances are manpower" to me. I think it helped me to leave as much of the housework as possible to the appliances and to make time for myself during my busy child-rearing years.

◎Humidifying air purifier for humidity-sensitive babies: two in one, so you can clean it in one machine.
I usually didn't pay much attention to air quality, but my child is sensitive to humidity and moisture and sometimes cries when there is a change in air quality, so I kept the humidifying air purifier running at all times during my maternity leave. It is nice to be able to eliminate even one cause of crying in our child by maintaining comfort.
In addition, since the humidifier and air purifier can both be used in one unit, we were able to streamline the cleaning and maintenance of the two units, which would have been two separate units if we had one of each.

◎The "ball lantern" is just the right amount of light that won't wake the child and is a great help when nursing!
During my childcare leave, my days were hectic as I picked up and dropped off my child in the morning, then cooked and cleaned. However, I was happy to be able to watch them grow up close.
A useful appliance was a "ball lantern. The light in the room would be too bright when nursing, so the slightly darker light of the ball lantern was just right and helpful.
I also used a waterproof Private Viera when my child didn't like water and wouldn't take a bath. When I told my child that he could watch a movie on the Private Viera, he would willingly take a bath, which he usually hates to do.

Finally, we recommend Panasonic products for the top-ranked appliances.
