hugME launches hugME, a children's sex education project by two mothers.

From the Editor

Talking and thinking about sex with children can be quite difficult, and how to introduce it and how to proceed can be quite difficult and even resistant. In the midst of all this, two mothers started a children's sex education project, hugME, on August 23.

Let's take a look at the details from the press release.

- Below is the content from the press release--

On August 23, 2022, hugME, a sex education project by two mothers, will be launched.

The hugME logo was created based on the image of a parent and child hugging each other.
The two motifs representing a parent and child are like important twin leaves that will be nurtured in the future.
We hope that hugME will grow into a nurturing place for everyone, and we have also included our determination to mark this as the place where we began. We also put our determination to make this the place where we began.

What kind of project is hugME?

Many fathers and mothers feel somewhat uncomfortable discussing sex with their children.
Many fathers and mothers feel this way. They may be somewhat embarrassed, or they may not know where to start. When it comes time to start, the barriers to sex education are higher and thicker than one might imagine. That is the current situation, isn't it?

However, we adults should overcome such barriers and actively talk about sex with our children. Because sex education is about learning the importance of oneself, and above all, to know one's own sexuality is to know one's own beginning and preciousness, and to know that others are equally irreplaceable.

We believe that through sex education, children can learn to know and accept themselves and their partners correctly, and thus develop the ability to cherish themselves and others - to love themselves and their partners as a whole. We believe this to be true.

In order to nurture children who can value themselves and others as a whole, and to realize a society in which children can live in peace and comfort, hugME will start this project by disseminating information on sex education.

Activities of the hugME project

  2. Seminar project for sex education (from January 2023)
  3. Project to develop original sex education goods such as picture books (from June 2023)
