Tokyo subsidizes the use of babysitters, 5 billion yen in the FY2006 budget plan

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government is planning to start subsidizing the use of babysitters from fiscal 2018 as a new measure for children waiting for a job. The upper limit is 280,000 yen per month. 5 billion yen for 1,500 babysitters will be included in the FY2006 budget.

The subsidized babysitters will be available for children between the ages of 0 and 2 years old, and since the majority of the 8,586 children on waiting lists in Tokyo as of April 2005 were under the age of 1, the government will provide more support for this age group. The subsidy will cover up to 280,000 yen of the monthly fee for a babysitter, which is estimated to be 320,000 yen in a standard case. The user's burden will be 40,000 yen per month, the same level as the average childcare fee at licensed daycare centers.

Nursery School Dropout Japan Deaths, which was picked up by the mass media! About a year and a half has passed since then. It's not a bad idea to think that it's fair if the government pays the difference between the private sector and the nursery schools. It's hard to buy the treatment of nursery workers and the system even if you want to build a nursery school, so I guess it's just a matter of getting the money to cover the emergency and buying time to figure out how to change the social system.
