UK medtech startup Medherant raises £3.8 million in new funding
Medherant is a company that is developing a patch called TEPI, which is a "transdermal drug delivery patch" for administering medical medications through the skin. These new funds will be used to move the patch into clinical development and eventual commercialization. The ability to deliver drugs through the skin is expected to improve the healthcare experience by reducing the physical burden on patients and leaving no residue on the skin.
It seems that they are working in partnership with a major Japanese company, so it is likely to be put to practical use as early as 2020.
