Nara Medical University conducting a demonstration experiment of support for watching over expectant and nursing mothers

Fujitsu and Nara Medical University conduct demonstration experiment to support monitoring of expectant and nursing mothers using AI and IoT.

On September 13, Nara Medical University and Fujitsu announced the start of a verification experiment for a service that uses AI and IoT to monitor the living and health conditions of expectant and nursing mothers.

The demonstration experiment will be conducted from October 1, 2017 to January 31, 2018, focusing on telephone health counseling for approximately 30 expectant and nursing mothers in the perinatal period who are attending Nara Medical University Hospital. The plan includes 24-hour, 365-day health counseling through a call center and "Ogenki Call" to call expectant and nursing mothers once every two weeks to check on their health and other conditions.

It still seems to be a very rudimentary effort... It seems to be at the level of let's gather where to utilize what data, which makes me wonder if it can't be modeled from existing medical records, etc., but that doesn't seem to be the case.

The problem is that the project to watch over pregnant women, babies, and the elderly is not profitable (it is difficult to charge a large amount of money for commercial purposes due to its public nature and welfare aspect), but if even a single breakthrough is achieved, it should be possible to work with a startup to conduct a demonstration experiment with public facilities on the back end. If we can achieve even one breakthrough, it should be possible to work with a startup to expand the field of demonstration experiments with public facilities on the back end. I have high expectations for this.
