Nanit has an app for your phone, but there are different features available for free and for a fee. In the free version, you can only stream the videos Nanit takes. To store and analyze information such as sleep patterns, number of times your parents come to bed, room temperature, and sleep duration, you need to sign up for an optional feature called Nanit Insight, which is available for free for 30 days, but after that you need to sign up on a monthly/yearly basis.
Nanit is using machine learning in its behavioral analysis. The developer of Nanit is keen to learn various human behavioral patterns using baby sleep pattern analysis as a starting point.
