Linked to a talk app for single mothers and single fathers to help single parents take a break.
- The following is content from the press release -
(Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shogo Minami), a non-profit organization that develops and operates "Pair Chill", a talk app for single mothers and single fathers, will launch Japan's first full-fledged fluid respite care program for single-parent families.
Pair Chill, a talk app used by single mothers and single fathers in 47 prefectures. In a survey of approximately 1,000 users of the app conducted through the "I want a place where I can leave my child when I am tired of being a one-parent childcare provider or when I need to take care of my child on short notice. In addition, through interviews with the respondents, it became clear that their housing, work, and family situations differ greatly from person to person, and that they have difficulty picking up and dropping off their children, have irregular hours and days when they want to leave their children at home, and feel anxious about leaving their children alone. The reality is that single parents have limited mental and physical capacity, but do not feel comfortable using the support of others.
On the other hand, some said they would like to leave their children in a safe and enjoyable environment and provide their children with a variety of experiences.
Therefore, PairChill held a respite care program exclusively for single-parent families in order to provide a respite for the parents and children of single-parent families and an experience for the children.
When we invited a limited number of 5 children for the pre-event, we received 15 applications in 10 days, and the ages of the children varied from 0 to 14 years old.
Parents and children have been highly satisfied with the service, and in light of the high level of need, PairChill has decided to expand nationwide in earnest in the future.
There are three main reasons why we are launching a full-fledged respite care program for single-parent families.
Reasons to Engage in Respite Care (1): There are single parents who do not have time to rest.
Single-parent households work longer hours than two-parent households. In addition, they are more likely to fall into "time poverty" because they are responsible for housework, child-rearing, and work as a one-parent operation, and there is a risk of secondary damage such as child abuse.
Reason for working on respite care (2): There are short-stay programs that allow children to be temporarily placed in facilities, but there are challenges.
However, there are some reasons for this: there are no facilities within easy reach to pick up and drop off children, there is some resistance to leaving children at facilities, and there are concerns about the negative psychological impact of having children left in the care of facilities, There are single-parent families who do not feel comfortable using this service.
Reason to engage in respite care (3): There is a disparity in experience between children from single-parent families and those from two-parent families.
Although the employment rate for single parents exceeds 85%, the poverty rate (disposable income of less than approximately 1.24 million yen) is much higher than that of two-parent households.
This income poverty also affects the percentage of children who participate in "regular hands-on activities" in single-parent families compared to two-parent families, according to the survey results(*). The same survey found that more than half of the reasons why single-parent families did not allow their children to participate in hands-on activities were "Parents do not have enough time" (54.71 TP6T) and "Parents do not have enough money" (53.91 TP6T).

For these three main reasons, we have decided to launch a full-fledged nationwide respite care business specializing in single-parent families.
Not just respite for your child, but to deliver an experience that will lead to a brighter future for your child.
The vision of PairTil is "to realize a society in which parents and children of single-parent families are absolutely happy. To achieve this, we will "weave psychosocial resources with parents and children of single-parent families to prevent any negative cycle.
That is why we aim not only to take care of children from single-parent families, but also to prevent a negative cycle and provide opportunities for the children's future.
Request to corporations and individuals who are willing to rent locations around the country
In order to develop respite care services throughout the country, it is essential to have a "location" where you can provide the experience to the children. Even within the same prefecture, multiple locations must be secured, as transportation networks and other factors may make it impossible to drop off and pick up children.
If there are corporations or individuals who are willing to rent a place that can accommodate more than a few children and has space for play, etc., please contact us. We would be happy to hear from you. We would appreciate it if you would feel free to contact us. If you have a meeting room that is not in use on weekends or holidays, we can use it for respite care, depending on the type of respite care we provide.
To all childcare support organizations nationwide
We plan to work with organizations that offer a variety of events for children and support for their whereabouts.
We would be happy to work with any company or support group that holds event activities for children, not only for single-parent families.
We would like to start by having a brief chat with you. Please click the button below to contact us.
Request for Support
I want children from single-parent families to have a variety of experiences.
I want to do my bit to help stop the cycle of child poverty.
To those who have these thoughts and feelings. Would you be willing to join us in supporting PairTil's respite care efforts?
Your donation will be used to provide more children from single-parent families with opportunities to experience the program (food and beverages for the children, play items, location fees, transportation, publicity, and office expenses for these activities, etc.).
Pair Chill Sponsorship Opportunities
We are looking for sponsors to support the activities of Pair Chill.
We will post your logo on organization websites, service websites, and flyers, distribute email newsletters, distribute notices in apps, create original introductory articles, and distribute on various social networking sites, depending on your plan.
We are sponsored by Careerart, Inc., a company that specializes in job placement and career change assistance for people with disabilities.
About General Incorporated Association (Non-Profit-Making Type) PairTil
With a background of being abused from the age of 0 and growing up in a single-parent home, the representative director, Minami himself, started the organization with the desire to "solve all issues related to single parents like his mother and children like himself who grow up in such homes.
We believe that the bottleneck of poverty, abuse, parent-child suicide, and other issues faced by single-parent families is the isolation from people, information, and social resources that single parents suffer as a result of their work, housework, and childcare responsibilities, and the lack of time and mental capacity to cope with them.
As a product to solve this "unwanted loneliness," we have developed and operate "Pair Chill," a talk application that allows single parents in similar circumstances to connect and consult with each other.
