- The following is content from the press release -

(headquartered in Fujisawa City, Kanagawa Prefecture; Ryusuke Akane, President; hereinafter "the Company"), which provides training for childcare professionals and consulting services for the operation of childcare facilities to improve the quality of childcare and early childhood education, will launch a renewal project for its online training system from October 2023. The first phase of the renewal project will be an annual plan. The first phase of the renewal project includes a price revision of the annual plan and the establishment of a monthly plan that can be experienced easily. The goal of this project is to provide childcare and early childhood education facilities that feel the need for training but do not have sufficient learning opportunities due to their busy work schedules and limited budgets with appropriate learning opportunities in their spare time. By doing so, we will contribute to improving the quality of childcare by creating a learning environment for those involved in childcare and early childhood education throughout Japan.

About the First Phase of the Renewal Project

We have made the following two revisions so that those childcare and early childhood education facilities who feel the need for training but do not have adequate learning opportunities due to their busy work schedules and limited budgets can take advantage of their spare time and learn appropriately.

Establishment of a new pricing plan with lower prices than before

The previous plan required that all participants be given an ID (pay-as-you-go), but the new plan allows for one ID per facility, making it easier to implement. (The new plan allows all staff members to take the course with one ID.

2. establishment of a subscription-based monthly plan

All of our approximately 350 training programs are available for 4,900 yen per month for small facilities and 9,800 yen per month for even the largest facilities. We are now able to meet the needs of those who want to "try it out first" or "get training on ●● in a hurry.
This allows any staff member at a facility to use the system as many times as they wish by applying at each facility, thereby improving the quality of childcare services at the facility as a whole. In addition, with the establishment of the Monthly Plan, it is now possible to easily try out the same system and training as the Annual Plan, making the use of the system even safer and more secure.

What is the Design Institute for Childcare on-line Training?

Our "on-line training" is a training system that offers approximately 350 courses (as of October 2023) for all levels, from newcomers to management, with leading experts in various fields of childcare and early childhood education as lecturers, so that participants can apply the latest knowledge and information to their daily practice. A key feature of this system is that those working in the field of childcare and early childhood education can take the courses as many times as they wish, regardless of location or time.

Representative Comment

The revision of the fee plan was made in the hope that our on-line training will help improve the quality of childcare services by providing high quality training to people involved in childcare throughout Japan. Before the revision, each facility was required to identify its own participants, and only those who had registered for the course were able to take it. By eliminating the limitation of participants based on course registration, we have made it possible for all employees in a facility to take the training anytime, anywhere, and as many times as they wish, and to share awareness within the facility.

Importance of Training Opportunities in Childcare and Early Childhood Education and Future Prospects

In recent years, reports of inappropriate childcare have been coming out one after another, and the actual conditions of childcare and early childhood education sites are being questioned more and more. According to the "Survey on Inappropriate Childcare, including Abuse, in Daycare Centers, etc." (*), approximately 30% of all facilities responded that they provide training to employees of daycare centers on the prevention of inappropriate childcare, and of these, approximately 70% responded that training is provided once a year.
From these results, it can be seen that there are still insufficient learning opportunities for quality improvement. Not only inappropriate childcare, but also in the field of childcare and early childhood education, there is a need to keep acquiring and learning the latest knowledge, but this is certainly not always possible due to a lack of manpower and the busyness of the workload.
Following this first round of renewal, next spring we will undergo a major renewal by upgrading the training system, aiming to create a system that is easier to use and easier to take courses, reflecting the feedback from users. We will continue to contribute to improving the quality of childcare and early childhood education through online training, group training, in-school training, consulting, and other services.
