I want to create a service to connect postpartum women with postpartum care! Azukaruko's next challenge
Azukaruko-chan is a service created in 2020 with the theme of solving the problems of sick child care. The service allows parents to make reservations from their smartphones for sick children who are unable to attend preschool or school due to colds or other illnesses, and works to improve accessibility in terms of procedures and reservation systems.
In our crowdfunding campaign in 2019, we received warm support of 10,544,000 yen from 448 people. Thanks to your support, 177 facilities and 9 municipalities have introduced the service in the 3 years and 6 months since its release. The number of registered children has exceeded 87,000 and the total number of reservations has exceeded 250,000.
The next step in the development of Azukaruko-chan is the postpartum care reservation service that we are crowdfunding this time. Women who have completed life-threatening childbirth are exposed to dizzying changes without a moment to catch their breath with their damaged bodies. Postpartum care is designed to support their physical and mental wellbeing. We at Good Baton are developing Azukaruko-chan Postpartum Care, a postpartum care reservation service, with the aim of creating a society in which all women who need such care can use it. In this crowdfunding campaign, we are raising funds for the development of this service.
What Azukaruko-chan Postpartum Care can achieve
In developing this service, we have heard many stories from users and staff of postpartum care facilities around the country.
There, I learned that women are exhausted both mentally and physically by the effects of the major hormonal changes that occur after childbirth and by the fact that they cannot rest for 24 hours a day while raising their children. I also learned that postpartum care plays an extremely important role as a place where these women can rest and relax.
Postpartum care is a program operated by local governments and the private sector, in which midwives and others provide physical and mental care and childcare support for women and children who have been postpartum for less than one year, either by commuting to and staying at facilities or visiting them at home.
Postpartum women are in different situations and feel different levels of strain. Providing individualized care for each one of them will help them recover physically and mentally, and reduce the risks that may occur after childbirth.
However, the hurdles to using postpartum care are still high in Japan, and it is not readily available to everyone. One person who actually used postpartum care said, "I had to go to the municipal office to apply for it while carrying my postpartum body, and call to make an appointment when the facility was open, which was time-consuming and psychologically burdensome. Because of the possibility of an imminent situation for women in the postpartum period, and the fact that such a situation may not be readily apparent to those around them, it is necessary to consider how to provide quick access with as little burden as possible. This is where we thought we could apply the knowledge we had gained from our Azukaruko-chan sick child care program. In other words, we are digitizing the process of actually using postnatal care facilities.
Smoothly schedule postpartum care appointments.
Selecting a postpartum care facility, completing the registration process, and scheduling and reserving appointments by phone. All of this can be done in a few spare moments with just a smartphone. We believe that if Azukaruko-chan Postpartum Care can make the process as convenient and smooth as possible, we will be able to connect more people to care.
Specifically, the following will be realized as a service
These are not only more convenient for the users, but also a great benefit for the facility staff providing postpartum care. By entering information online in advance and having many things structured, they can focus on the care that is truly needed.
1. Visualization of daily availability by facility
You can check the availability of the facility, its equipment, and the care provided on the web.
2. Reservation application is completed online.
Users can apply for reservations online 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, at their own timing.
3. Information necessary to make an appointment, such as a medical questionnaire and the type of care you wish to receive, can be entered online.
*Azukaruko-chan is not a smartphone application. It can be viewed from your PC, smartphone, or tablet browser.
The watchword: "Let's connect for #postpartum care."
In order to make postpartum care available to all who need it, it is imperative for the government to expand postpartum care services, but it is also important for society to foster a mood in which people do not feel inhibited from using postpartum care.
While many local governments and private sectors offer postpartum care services, many people hesitate to use them because "some people cooperate with me," "it is bad to depend on others," or "it is not a big deal compared to others. Although some local governments have established requirements for the use of postpartum care, the Administration for Children and Families has stated that the requirements for the use of postpartum care established by some local governments and others will be eliminated nationwide by the end of 2024, creating an environment that is easy for all who wish to use it, regardless of their postpartum family environment.
You can connect if you feel you need to. Our motto for this Kurafan crowdfunding campaign, "Let's connect for #postpartum care," is based on our desire to foster this kind of mood.

Sick child care in the palm of your hand. Azukaruko-chan supports sick child care business
Azukaruko-chan is a search and reservation service for sick child care that connects parents and sick child care centers. Parents can easily search for and reserve a sick child daycare center anytime via LINE or the Web. For the staff of the facility, it also frees them from complicated paperwork and allows them to concentrate on childcare. In addition, municipalities that introduce this service will be able to centrally manage information on all sick child daycare facilities in the community, enabling sick child daycare services to be conducted in a three-way beneficial manner for not only parents but also sick child/post-ill child daycare facilities and the municipal government.
Good Button Co.
Founded in 2017 by Masaki Sonoda, an obstetrician and gynecologist, with the idea of realizing a society where people can give birth and raise children with peace of mind, Azukaruko-chan was released in 2020 as a service to support the sick child care business from the three sides of parents, facilities, and local governments. In 2023, the company name was changed from Connected Industries to Good Baton, with the vision of providing comprehensive support not only in the sick child care business, but also in areas related to "giving birth," "raising children," and "nurturing children.
