Educational game "Shape Matching" using silhouettes of "Ottotto" confectionery shapes for learning while playing is released.

(Head office: Minami-Azabu, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shinichi Sano), a technology-based digital content and experience design company, was in charge of planning and development of the web game "Okashi no Kagewase" released by Morinaga Seika Co. 
The game is based on the silhouettes of Morinaga's popular "OTTO" snacks and is designed to help preschool children develop concentration, imagination, and logical thinking while playing "shape matching" games.

What is "Okonokagehawase"?

Okashi no Kagewase" is an educational game for preschoolers based on the silhouettes of Morinaga Seika's popular "Ototto" brand confectionery. A silhouette quiz is held on a dedicated smartphone website. The player selects the silhouette of the "OTTO" confectionery shape at the bottom of the page and rotates or flips it to match the silhouette.

The puzzle-like content experience of "katachi-matching" helps preschoolers improve their non-cognitive skills such as concentration, imagination, and logical thinking, and can be used as educational content that allows children to learn while having fun. The game is also equipped with a two-person play mode, allowing parents and children or siblings to deepen communication while playing together through games, and to adjust the level of difficulty while monitoring the child's level of comprehension.

These contents were produced under the supervision of Mr. Shinichi Komori, Professor of Health and Sports Science, Faculty of Education, Tokyo Gakugei University / Principal, Koganei Elementary School, Tokyo Gakugei University.

Aim of "Okaeri Kagehawase" production

At BeebMedia, we focus on production with the UX experience (the experience that actual users get from our products and services) at the core of our work. We created "Okaeri Kagewase" targeting parents who work from home and take care of their children, with the aim of creating content that they can play with their children with peace of mind. We conducted actual interviews with the target audience of fathers and mothers and extracted their needs for not wanting their children to simply play games. We turned this into a positive experience value by incorporating elements into the content that encourage learning and parent-child communication while the children play.
