Some of the results are presented below.

About 30% of mothers who purchased items to watch over their children said they purchased them when their children were preschoolers who were not yet acting alone.

When we asked the 757 mothers with children of elementary school age or younger who had purchased items to watch over their children at what age they purchased them, we found that approximately 60% of them had purchased them when their children were in the first grade, with the major trigger being going to and from school alone.

On the other hand, about 30% of the respondents purchased these products while their children were preschoolers, indicating that there is demand for these products from an age when they are not yet allowed to act on their own.

Moms considering items to watch over their children were interested in preventing them from getting lost.

The number one reason for interest among mothers considering items to watch over their children was "to prevent them from getting lost," at approximately 50%. The "other" free comments included "I think I will need it when my child enters elementary school," "He is only 4 years old and never goes out by himself, but I am always interested in what kind of goods I can give him when he starts to go out by himself," "There was an ad on the back cover of Gyutte (Kodomori), a magazine distributed at preschools for parents and mothers," and "I am thinking I will need it when my child starts to go out by himself. I am always interested in what kind of goods I can give my child when he/she goes out by himself/herself in the future.

About 70% of lower grade students "Yes" to receiving a crime prevention buzzer from their local government.
The number of people purchasing the product is also high at about 70%.

When 402 mothers of elementary school students were asked if their local government distributed security buzzers, about 70% of the mothers in the lower grades answered that they did. In addition, about 70% of the mothers in the lower grades (total of those who are using or have previously purchased and used the items) have purchased the watch-over items, suggesting that many of them feel that the distributed security buzzers alone are not enough and are taking action to purchase them themselves. In addition, less than 5% of both younger and older students answered that they were not interested, indicating that most mothers are at least interested.

The No. 1 crime prevention measure taken by parents and children is "parent-child commitments.
Second place goes to "use of items to watch over you."

About 80% of mothers with children of elementary school age or younger (excluding those who answered "not particularly") take some kind of crime prevention measures, and about 60% of them have set rules in their homes and share them as a promise. The next most common measure was "using items to watch over children," which was implemented by about 40% of the mothers, indicating that it is widely used as a crime prevention measure.
