Hello! I am Ogamari.
My daughter, who had just finished her acclimation to daycare, came down with a sudden rash and had to take a few days off....
I often read picture books in my home daycare, and I wanted to keep track of what I read and when, so I searched for a convenient app. Then I learned that there is a genre of apps for recording readings! It's a convenient world where what you want is already there...
I have tried several of them, and I would like to introduce an application called "Julius" that I liked!
Developed by an active parenting father! Read-aloud Recording App
."Juliusis a smartphone application that allows you to record a picture book reading log. You can register the picture books you have and record the timing of your read-aloud. No registration is required.
The developer is an active father raising a child! From the perspective of a father and mother, this app is full of features that will scratch that itch.
iPhone version, ,Android versionBoth of these have been released.
Easy to find and easy to record!
Julius is simple and easy to use! The UI of a recording application is very important, because it would be meaningless if the recording method is too cumbersome to continue.
Easy registration with bar code!
The first step is to register a picture book. There are three registration methods available: barcode reading, keyword search, and manual registration.
It would be nice to be able to manually register picture books that do not have barcodes (e.g., picture books received through correspondence courses)!
I immediately registered some picture books I had on hand.
Barcode reading was smooth and registration was stress-free!
You not only buy picture books, but also borrow them from libraries and other places. With Julius, registered picture books can be registered in two patterns: "I have" and "I borrowed".
You can register picture books by selecting "read" or "not yet", so you can also register picture books that you are thinking of buying or that were recommended to you as a memo.
After you read it, simply record it with a tap!
When you read a picture book, tap the "Read" button to increase the number of times you have read the book by one. Since there are no troublesome operations, it is likely to prevent omissions from being recorded.
The reading log can record not only the date, but also the five levels of cheerfulness and the child's response.
There are still quite a few picture books in our home that are difficult and not well received or liked, but I look forward to keeping track of how they change in the future!
You can look back with rankings and graphs!
The number of times and number of books read to them can be checked in the form of rankings and graphs.
Not only can it be utilized toward the target number of read-aloud sessions, but it can also be used to say, "I see this picture book is your favorite," or "I haven't read this recently, so I'll read it to you.
Although we were able to spend less time together as parent and child since daycare started, I felt that by keeping records, I would be able to preserve the evidence of the time I spent with my daughter.
There are many exciting features!
Julius has a variety of functions, but one of the features that I like the most is the "Share with Partner" function! Users with partner privileges can also record the information, which I think will motivate dads to read to their children!
You can also register as a "supporter" with only viewing privileges. If you share with your grandparents, you can avoid the tragedy of having a picture book gift that is shared with your grandparents! (Although there is a possibility that you may receive a comment like "You haven't read many picture books lately...")
Other itchy features include a goal-setting function, an alarm function, a data backup function, a function to print a list of picture books, a function to switch bookshelves for siblings, and many more!
The enthusiasm of the developer is wonderful!
The great thing about this app is that the developer is just so quick and courteous!
We receive daily comments from parents, such as "I want this feature! "I want this feature!" and "I want this part fixed! and "I want this part fixed!
Since the hurdle for switching to other apps is high for such recording apps, I would like to continue using the first one I chose if possible. I also looked at various recording apps, but the deciding factor in choosing Julius was that I thought, "This developer must be able to handle it! was the deciding factor in my decision to choose Julius!
(By the way, Julius even has an "easy transfer function from other apps"... too amazing... tears)
Why don't you all enjoy reading to your children with Julius?
Child of the Week.
I had heard of Sudden onset rash, aka "cranky disease," but I never thought I would be in such a bad mood.... I am having the strongest "grumpy DAYS" in my life. I feel like giggling already....
