■Background of Asahi Group Foods' Development of the Wako-chan Application

One of the major concerns in raising a child is "food management. Especially during the weaning period, there are endless worries such as, "He doesn't eat much," or "I am worried about whether he is getting well-balanced nutrition. In addition, according to a survey*1 of mothers of children aged 0 to 1.5 years, there is a growing need for "recipes by age group" and "time-saving techniques for childcare.
Therefore, Asahi Group Foods, which offers baby formula and baby food under the "Wakodo" brand, decided to develop a new service to solve the problems of baby food that changes with the age of the child and to support mothers and fathers during child-rearing.
Monster Lab was asked to provide DX consulting support and this project began in September 2021.

Developer's Voice Masanori Hashimoto, Project Manager, MonsterLab

In the planning stage, we actually interviewed people raising children, conducted market research, and held discussions with the client to find out what features would make things a little easier for people raising children.
In the course of our study, we realized that there were surprisingly few apps that could be completed in a single application with all the various functions and contents necessary for child-rearing.
As a result, we had to include many functions in the application, so we tried to make the UI design of the screen as uncluttered as possible.
Raising a child is a tough job, but we are very happy that more people will be able to use this application to make their lives a little easier and to keep a record of their child's growth.

Monster Lab will continue to support DX promotion while accompanying our clients.
