- Inside the cute little bird form, in addition to face recognition cover prevention and turn-over alert, a high-performance camera is also equipped to capture sleeping faces.
- CuboAi Plus is highly regarded around the world, and we will continue to work on further functional improvements and the development of new services.
Nighttime, when babies are sleeping soundly. It is a time for fathers and mothers to take a breather, but it is also a time when they need to be careful. For example, there is a danger that the baby's slobber coat may cover the baby's face in some way. Also, lying down and slouching can make it difficult to breathe... The little bird-shaped smart baby monitor "CuboAi Plus" introduced here is an item that watches over the baby's safety in the middle of the night on behalf of the parents. We spoke with Brian Lin, president of Yun Yun Ai Baby Camera Co.,Ltd, the company behind the worldwide development of CuboAi Plus, about the appeal of the product, how it was developed, and its future goals.

Mr. Brian Lin
Cute little bird-shaped smart baby monitor with a wide variety of built-in functions
Editorial:Nice to meet you today, CuboAi Plus, you have a very pretty design!
Lin:Thank you very much. In Taiwan, little birds are considered very auspicious. We designed it as a guardian for children and for fathers and mothers who are new to child-rearing.
Editorial:I also love how the camera is casually covered with a warm wood material. It's a simple design that fits in well with the room, and I don't think I'll ever get tired of it.
Lin:Alert features to keep your baby safe include face recognition cover prevention, turn over alert, and cough detection alert. Other monitoring and sleep-keeping features include sleep analysis, 18 hours of recording, and built-in lullabies, as well as two-way voice communication, cry detection alerts, temperature and humidity sensing, and a nightlight function.
Editorial:So many functions are packed into a compact package! We often hear from fathers and mothers who are raising their children that they have a hard time with crying at night, but with CuboAi Plus, they can rest assured that they are in good hands.
Lin:Some nighttime crying can still be recognized by the baby's voice, but in some cases the baby's face is covered by droolers and other objects, so it is very important to keep a close watch on the baby. However, it is difficult for parents to stay by their baby's side all the time, so CuboAi Plus was created to solve this problem through the power of technology.
Editorial:That's the wonderful thing about BabyTech. It is also wonderful that it not only watches over the baby, but also analyzes the temperature, humidity, and other aspects that humans cannot grasp.
Lin:A sensor pad (sold separately) can also be mounted together to record the baby's temperature and other data. Understanding this kind of data will also help improve the quality of sleep.
Other features of the CuboAi Plus include a camera with a 1080 HD ultra wide-angle 135-degree lens, which allows the Ai to recognize the sleeping face of a child and automatically take pictures. Many parents are delighted to see their children's natural expressions and growth.
Editorial:At the BabyTech® Award Japan, one of the judges commented, "It is wonderful that the device is not only for monitoring the baby, but also for enjoying the growth of my child as a result of the photos taken.
Lin:Yes, the data taken will be stored as a growth record and can be accessed at any time.
Editorial:Every day is a series of changes, right? The ability to record such daily data is wonderful.
Lin:Another feature of the CuboAi Plus is that it can be used in a variety of ways depending on the age of the child: the target age range for CuboAi Plus is 0 to 5 years old, but the range of activities changes as the child grows. As the child grows older, the system can be used in a variety of ways, such as adding crying alerts and danger area alerts.
Editorial:Parents sometimes go into the kitchen when they take their eyes off their children for a moment.
Lin:It is difficult for moms and dads to watch their children all the time, and with CuboAi Plus, they get push notifications when something happens, which gives them peace of mind.
Editorial:Along with the safety of the child, this item also provides peace of mind to the parents.
Lin:Users commented, "The face recognition cover prevention and turnover alert functions were the deciding factors in my purchase. It tells me as soon as I fall asleep, so I don't have to worry. I am happy to be able to see my child's sleeping face in high definition. In today's world of nuclear families and dual-earner households, there is a saying that a mother or father is left to take care of his or her child by himself or herself.
Editorial:It is a nice philosophy! I can feel the thought of the makers and people involved in the design and function.
Aiming for an all-in-one solution to meet the needs of various communities
Editorial:Can you tell us how CuboAi Plus was developed?
Lin:The development was triggered by an incident in which one of our members and a mother, Joanna, saw her child's face covered with a slobber cover at night and felt it was dangerous. We felt that this problem could happen in any family, so we decided to conduct a survey of moms and dads in Taiwan. We felt there was a definite need for this product and decided to commercialize it.
Editorial:That's how it all started!
Lin:At first, we used crowdfunding to sell our products, and based on the response we gathered there, we decided to create the current second generation and sell it to the world.
Editorial:What is the intention behind the use of crowdfunding?
Lin:It is a place where we can have two-way communication with users. We felt that by receiving real feedback, we could deliver even more wonderful products to the world.
Editorial:I see. I see that you have been crowdfunding in Japan as well, and I could see the strong need for the product with the nearly 8501 TP7T achievement rate! What were some of the challenges you faced in commercializing the product?
Lin:We went through a lot of trial and error where we gathered all the functions of AI and the quality of the camera. As for how to get clear images in the dark, it was very difficult to find a partner.
Editorial:You sell your products worldwide. What is the reason why so many people in different countries support your products?
Lin:I think this is largely due to the fact that we have tried to respond to the need for an all-in-one solution for watching over children from the beginning. Not only do we incorporate all the necessary functions, but even the mounting stand is designed to be wall-mounted or used as a stand, taking into consideration American families, many of whom own their own homes, as well as Japanese families, many of whom rent their homes.
Editorial:It is very detailed and well thought out. Are there any regional differences in the response of users?
Lin:There are quite a few. For example, in countries such as Germany, people tend to be concerned about security in terms of personal information and data safety, and CuboAi Plus offers high-level encryption technology and protection of digital information, so people can use it with peace of mind. In countries such as the U.S., Canada, and Australia, where many married couples work together and separate their bedrooms from their children, the push notification function is very useful. In Japan, where people often sleep with their children, the cute appearance and automatic photo function are appreciated.
Editorial:So as the region changes, so do the needs for childcare. So many local needs are incorporated.
We will continue to create products that protect the "safety," "sleep," and "memories" of families.
Editorial:May I ask why you applied for the BabyTech® Award Japan?
Lin:I thought the concept of using technology to support childcare was a perfect fit, and I hoped to spread the benefits of CuboAi Plus to Japanese consumers. In fact, winning the Excellence Award allowed us to let many people know about our product.
Editorial:I see, thank you very much! Finally, please tell us about your future plans.
Lin:There are three points of future development. First, the company as a whole hopes to continue to develop baby-related ecosystems, such as baby-friendly air conditioners, in conjunction with baby cameras and sensor pads. Next, let me talk about the Japanese market. Many people in Japan love our products. We would like to invest more resources in the future and hope to establish a corporation. Finally, we hope to continue to make products that protect the "safety," "sleep," and "memories" of children for more photographers, fathers and mothers.
Editorial:I am looking forward to hearing what you have to say and I am looking forward to seeing what the future holds! Thank you very much for your time today.
After the interview
After this interview, I realized once again how wonderful CuboAi Plus is in terms of functionality and design. Behind this was the developer's desire and willingness to value the voices of users through crowdfunding in various countries around the world. I felt that the current design, which was created by meeting the needs of many communities, is the very strength of CuboAi Plus. It looks very cute and would make a great gift.
