A press release was struck in July 2017.
The "Okusuri Combination Rank" application is a tool that allows users to easily check the concomitant use of drugs and prescription frequency with simple operations based on the JMIRI prescription information database (prescription data from out-of-hospital dispensing pharmacies in Japan), one of the big data sources in healthcare.
Pharmacists are expected to grasp the actual usage of these drugs from a bird's eye view and foresee drug interactions, precautions related to dosage, and possible concerns of patients, thereby providing more efficient and effective medication guidance and information. The improvement of pharmacists' abilities will contribute to society by improving patient satisfaction with treatment and medication adherence, thereby improving the efficiency of medical care and reducing medical costs.
This application is only available to pharmacists. The intention seems to be to contribute to the improvement of pharmacists' competence and efficiency by providing them with the information they need to provide prescriptions.
Main Functions
We offer functions such as "concomitant use of medications," "frequency of prescriptions," and "search by name or ingredient." It's also amazing that they offer it for free. The application seems to have a high political hurdle, such as screening for being a pharmacist or permission to use the application in the field, but if more and more scenes where the application is used appropriately, it may lead to improved machine learning accuracy in prescriptions.
