German relocation startup Move24 brings in €13 million in Series C round
Move24 provides moving and relocation services across Europe, including loading and unloading, storage, and handyman and cleaning services. With the new funding, the startup says it seeks become the “leading provider of relocation services of all kinds”. The company also wants to offer more services connected with relocation, such as electricity contracts.
え・・・？ relocationって移転とか引っ越しって意味だけど、それがスタートアップになって資金調達が可能なぐらい、ベルリンの社会環境は引っ越しが困難なのか・・・？
そういった驚きがあったので、取り上げてみました。ヨーロッパのように地続きで隣国とつながっている場合は、ヨーロッパ全体がひとつの引っ越し対象エリアとして捉まえるようです。国を超えるとなれば引っ越しも面倒でしょうね…
Move24では、荷物の積み卸しと荷物の破損に他する保険、24時間年中無休の対応がベースとなっており、退去 or 移転先のクリーニングや大型家具等のセッティングは別料金となっています。日本的感覚だと、単なる引っ越し業者でしか無い。でも、それがスタートアップになるぐらい、ヨーロッパ圏で引っ越しに纏わる諸作業のめんどうさは社会問題として捉えるべきものなんでしょう。
