QR Daredoko," an application for preventing children from being left behind at preschool, was officially released last June and allows preschool administrators and parents to check the activities of their children using QR codes. By reading the QR code placed on the back of a child's nametag with a smartphone or tablet, the activities of the preschool can be shared in the cloud. If you have a tablet or smartphone connected to the Internet, you can start using the system by simply inserting a piece of paper with the QR code printed on it into the back of the child's nameplate.

Background of the development of the outing (roll call) mode
Until now, QR Daredoko's roll call function could be used in the "bus mode" function, which was designed for use on buses commuting to kindergartens and schools. However, we have received many requests to use QR Daredoko not only for buses but also for strolling, or for strolling but not for buses, so we have been studying and developing this function internally.

Outing (roll call) mode explanation].
In the outing (roll call) mode, the destination, time spent at the destination, and roll call participants are set. This information is automatically sent to the teacher.

The teacher can perform four roll calls: (1) at departure, (2) upon arrival at the destination, (3) upon departure from the destination, and (4) upon return. During roll call, the names of the target preschoolers are displayed on the smartphone, and each time the QR of a preschooler is scanned, the name of each child is erased.

You can always check the progress of your walks and other activities on the management screen in the facility. The figure below shows the screen when you leave the park to return home.

In the unlikely event that a child remains unscanned for a certain period of time, a reminder e-mail will be sent to the leader, administrator, and parent/guardian of the child.

Other enhanced features
Since its official release last year, QR Daredoko has been enhanced with multiple features based on user feedback.
Support for one-man buses
Since many buses used for commuting to school and after-school programs are one-man buses, QR reading is required on the driver's side of the bus and at the entrance to the bus stop away from the driver's seat. In addition, high-speed QR scanning is required when the surrounding environment is dark depending on the time of day. To meet these requirements, we have implemented a function to connect to an external QR reader. This makes it possible to check the roll call status from the driver's seat while the QR reader installed at the boarding gate reads QRs at high speed.

Grouping and narrowing tag functions
In addition to the existing nickname information, "tag information" can now be registered for grouping and filtering. Tag information can include information such as class and grade, etc., and can be used to add information other than nicknames or to display only children in a specific class. Tag information is not included in the QR Code and can only be viewed by the administrator. The administrator can change or edit the tag information.

Frutiful also provides loaner tablets for pilot operations.
