KIKASETE" aims to develop children's "ability to think and communicate" by reading picture books to them and asking questions that have no correct answers through a dialogue function that elicits feelings and thoughts. We have created a new "Picture Book Appreciation Curriculum". The picture book features a famous painting and explains the artist, historical background, and techniques. The subject paintings include Katsushika Hokusai's "Fugaku Sanjurokkei (Thirty-six Views of Mount Fuji) Kanagawa-okiinamiura (Kanagawa Okinamiura)" and Millet's "Ophelia. In addition to the usual interactive functions, the curriculum includes drawing and photography functions that allow students to freely express what they feel when they see the paintings. While there is a movement to refrain from going out due to a series of cancellations and postponements of cultural and artistic events due to the Corona disaster, the students can easily enjoy viewing paintings in the comfort of their own homes.
