Medherant, a medical startup based in Copentry, UK, has raised a new 3.8 million pounds (570 million Japanese yen) in funding.
UK medtech startup Medherant raises £3.8 million in new funding
Medherant is a company developing a patch called TEPI, a "transdermal drug delivery patch" for the administration of medical medications through the skin. These new funds will be used to move the patch into clinical development and eventual commercialization. The ability to administer drugs through the skin is expected to improve the medical experience by reducing the physical burden on patients and leaving no residue on the skin.
It appears that they are also partnering with a major Japanese company, so it is likely that the system will be put to practical use as early as 2020.
