Survey Background and General Comments

This survey was conducted jointly with VISH Corporation in order to clarify the actual means of communication with after-school day care services and child development support offices. Respondents were parents raising children with disabilities.

Communication between the families of children with disabilities and the business office via contact sheets is essential for communicating daily conditions, physical condition, and minor changes.

However, since communication with the offices is usually done by hand on paper, we thought that parents might feel a lot of burden, which is the reason why we conducted this survey.

We thought that some parents may feel the burden of handwriting and wish to digitalize the system because they have to write during the busy morning hours and need to write the same thing over and over again when using multiple offices.

The results of this survey clearly showed a latent need for digitization, with 80% of parents wishing to digitize their books, but only 50% have adopted the system, and 30% want to use it but are unable to do so.

Parents are not only seeking to go digital for efficiency reasons, such as making better use of morning time and reducing the burden of filling out forms.

1. I am happy to see more accurate information on how children are doing through the use of photos and videos.

2. Information can be shared not only by the mom (or dad) who writes the contact book, but also by both parents.

3. The time you spend filling out the form can be used to spend time with your children.

Some said that digital contact books are an effective means of fostering this kind of parent-child time.

Some people feel more comfortable communicating on paper, while others find it difficult to communicate digitally for various reasons. This will lead to a better relationship and environment.

We hope that this survey will encourage people to review their efforts in the field and at home, and lead to better relationships.
