Takara Tomy Co., Ltd. developed the baby sleep support device "necoron," with product design support from Yukai Engineering. We will unveil its prototype for the first time at the CES 2026 Yukai Engineering booth as a joint exhibit.
Bedtime Support Device "necoron" (Necoron)
The moment you lay a baby who fell asleep in your arms down in the crib, they wake up or start crying as if a switch had been flipped. This phenomenon has become such a common source of anxiety and worry for many parents in Japan that it has even spawned its own term: the "back switch." Takara Tomy is developing a sleep support device called "necoron" to address this. It alerts caregivers to the optimal moment to lay the baby down in the crib without waking them, aiming to reduce the burden caused by the "back switch" in childcare.
Simply attach it to your baby's foot and press the button to activate. The main unit's LED color indicates the optimal parenting action for that moment—such as "walk while holding" or "lay down in bed"—helping you smoothly put your baby to sleep.
Through our collaboration with Yukai Engineering on the product design for this project's realization, we will jointly exhibit a prototype at CES 2026. Takara Tomy is currently developing the product, aiming for market launch around 2026.
