(Head office: Otemachi, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Hiromasa Mine), a provider of medical ICT solutions. https://www.sharemedical.jp (Nexstetho) is pleased to announce its new Nexstetho HUB, which is used in conjunction with the Nexstetho digital hearing device.

This product adds high-quality remote listening capabilities to online medical care, providing a smooth consultation experience similar to face-to-face consultations, especially for medical MaaS and facility-to-facility online consultations.

Nexstetho HUB

Background of development: Challenges of "switching" in online medical care

Conventional online medical care, especially D to P with N (doctor-nurse-patient) type, requires switching between the microphone for the patient side (interview) and the audio input of the digital stethoscope's auscultatory tone, either electrically or mechanically.

This switching operation often caused connection problems, such as the online medical system not recognizing the stethoscope, and the nurses on the patient side were forced to deal with the problem, placing a heavy burden on the frontline.

Seamless remote auscultation with "Nexstetho HUB

The "Nexstetho HUB" eliminates this switching problem, seamlessly integrating the medical interview and auscultation and eliminating the process of switching between them.

The physician can listen uninterrupted to the clear auscultation sound transmitted through the "Nextate" that the nurse places on the patient at the same time as the voice is transmitted through the online medical system while saying "breathe in" or "breathe out" to the patient, or while giving instructions to the nurse. The nurse simply turns off the Nexstate when the auscultation is complete. The examination continues uninterrupted.

This enables physicians to perform remote auscultation with the same natural feeling as face-to-face consultations, which will greatly contribute to improving diagnostic accuracy and reducing the workload of on-site staff. This functionality is ideal for situations where high-quality telemedicine is required, such as medical MaaS vehicles that support the transport of physicians to emergency sites and inter-facility online medical services where specialists examine patients at remote facilities.
