Announcement] BabyTech® Awards 2025-26: Start of the application period

Autumn Children's Month: Supporting Children's "What I Want to Be! Childcare Map iiba holds work experience events in Kyoto Prefecture.

- The following is content from the press release -

(headquartered in Minato-ku, Tokyo; Nana Aizawa, President & CEO; hereinafter referred to as "iiba"), operator of the "iiba" childcare map application, in collaboration with Kyoto Prefecture and Aioi Nissay Dowa Insurance Company, Limited, will hold "Kids' Work Experience Event" in Kyoto Prefecture from November to December 2025.

background

A diverse range of jobs in local manufacturing, retail, service, transportation, and traditional industries support our daily lives. However, the current situation is that not enough opportunities for children to experience the appeal and satisfaction of these jobs are reaching them. As a result, it is difficult for the younger generation to become familiar with "familiar jobs," and a shortage of bearers of local industries is also an issue.

On the other hand, for children, visiting actual workplaces and coming into contact with adults can lead to great discoveries and broaden their options for the future. For the parents' generation, it is also a valuable experience that gives them a renewed sense of the significance of working in the community.

The work experience events held by iiba in cooperation with business offices in Kyoto Prefecture are a place to create such encounters. By conveying to local children the "appeal of work close at hand," the events provide hints for future career development, while at the same time encouraging circulation to the local economy and human resource development.

In addition, November is "Kodomannaka Month" designated by the national government's Child and Family Affairs Agency. With the timing of this event coinciding with a regional event in Kyoto Prefecture, this project will be a major step forward in connecting the local community with children as momentum for childcare support grows nationwide.

Stakeholder comments on the event

Comprehensive Support Office for Children and Child Raising, Health and Welfare Department, Kyoto Pref.

Kyoto Prefecture has registered approximately 4,200 stores and facilities that are implementing childcare-friendly measures as "Kids Friendly Facilities" to support outings for pregnant and child-rearing mothers and fathers, and information on these facilities has been available on the iiba application since 2024. In the "Kids' Work Experience" program, many work experience menus have been prepared with the cooperation of business establishments in Kyoto Prefecture. We hope that children will enjoy learning about the joys and importance of work, teamwork, and manners, as well as that the people at the establishments and their customers will enjoy interacting with the children through the hands-on experience.

We look forward to your participation.
