Soundtrack for "Designing Learning Experiences with Music" STEAM teaching material "Wonder Box" is now available.

(Head Office: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Kei Kawashima) has begun distributing the original soundtrack for Wonder Box, a STEAM communication teaching material that fosters the ability to think and create. Wonder Box has been well known not only for its teaching materials, but also for its original background music that is sure to catch the ear. The soundtrack containing this music can now be easily enjoyed through various music distribution services. To commemorate the distribution, an interview with the composer Fumihisa Tanaka and the director of the development of educational materials is also available, in which he talks about the behind-the-scenes process of creating the music and his thoughts on children.

Wonder Box is a distance learning service that fosters thinking and creativity through STEAM materials in areas such as programming, science, and art. In the five years since its launch, the service has been well received by children and their parents as a service that uses new ideas and technologies to bring out an unparalleled intellectual excitement.

Wonder Box Original Soundtrack now available

The Wonder Box soundtrack consists of five albums in accordance with the STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) theme of the educational materials and is available through various music distribution services. Mr. Fumihisa Tanaka

Mr. Fumihisa Tanaka, composer of all Wonder Box songs, and the director of the development of educational materials, talked about the behind-the-scenes production process.

The desire to "respect children's sensibilities and deliver essential experiences" is not limited to music production, but is common to the development of educational materials throughout Wonderbox.

He shares his desire to deliver high-quality, authentic experiences to children, the immersive experience created by original music, and his passion for helping children find their own "favorite" criteria.

Fumihisa Tanaka

Composer, sonification artist, sound programmer

Born in Matsumoto City, Nagano Prefecture in 1986.

After graduating from Matsumoto Fukashi High School and the Department of Music Environment Creation at Tokyo University of the Arts, he completed the Graduate School of Music at Tokyo University of the Arts in 2010.

Using various techniques and technologies related to music, he has been exploring and presenting new ways of being in music, not only in music production, but also in approaches to space, research applications, and more recently, production, research, and development using "sonification," which transforms everything into sound.

Major works include the educational app "Think! Think!" (2017 Google Play Award Finalist, 2023 APEC Digital Innovation and Educational Opportunities 1st Prize), the educational app "WONDER BOX", the films Film Love Today", "Atmosphere", NHK Special Drama "Momo-san and the Seven Papagenos" (2022 Japan Arts Festival Participant), NHK E-television "On the Night of #August 31. (2018 Italy Prize-winning program), etc.

About "Wonder Box," a STEAM communication resource for learning while playing

Wonder Box, launched in April 2020, is a distance learning service in the STEAM domain* that fosters children's "ability to think, creativity, and motivation" at home through a combination of digital and analog methods (target age: 4-10 years old).
