This project is an initiative promoted by the Childcare Facility Operation Division of the Shinagawa Ward Children's Future Department, and has been introduced to 38 nursery schools in the ward. Through international exchange using ICT, the project supports multicultural understanding and mental growth from early childhood.
Background and Objectives
In recent years, the importance of exposing children to diverse cultures and values has been increasing in the field of early childhood education. Shinagawa Ward aims to nurture children's curiosity and spirit of inquiry through the use of ICT and by providing experiences that enable children to feel a connection with foreign countries in their daily childcare.
The "Sekai Touch" program, to be introduced this time, combines ICT-based digital teaching materials and real-time international exchange, and aims to broaden children's international perspectives and improve the quality of their childcare and education.
Program Features
The features of the "world touch" to be implemented in this project are as follows
- Ongoing exchange opportunities multiple times a yearThe design is not limited to a one-off event, but is designed to continually deepen international understanding.
- Real-time, interactive interaction: Live interaction with the actual overseas preschoolers, not a recorded transmission.
- Extensive teaching materials and contentThe company provides high-quality digital learning materials that support prior and reflective learning.
- Careful introduction and operational supportSupport system that provides peace of mind, from advance preparation to day-of event progression.
By creating a daily environment rather than a one-time exchange, preschoolers can play and learn with friends from around the world and gain heart-to-heart experiences that transcend language and cultural differences.
About "World Touch

Sokaite Touch" is an international education program for young children offered by Thinkalot Co. It connects nursery schools and kindergartens in Japan with nursery schools and kindergartens overseas online, fostering children's curiosity and spirit of inquiry through experiences that expose them to different cultures, nature, languages, and more.
This program can be designed flexibly according to the educational policy and circumstances of the preschool, and provides an opportunity for children to "want to know more" on their own. Another feature of this program is that it can be naturally incorporated into daily childcare.
