The "Mimine Foundation" started its activities in April 2020 with the desire to "create a better society and system for children and families". In April 2025, the fifth anniversary of the start of its activities, the fund was incorporated with the aim of further developing its activities in the future. New initiative "Continuation Grants"
Through the Step Up Grant (2 years, up to 10 million yen per organization, to strengthen projects and organizations) and the Innovation Grant (3 years, up to 100 million yen per organization, to create social change), the "Mimene Fund" is now launching a new grant program called the "Continuing Grant" in response to the desire of the "Mimene Fund" to "continue to support even more outstanding initiatives" and "continue to support even after the grant period ends. The new grant program, "Continuing Grants," is a new grant program that takes into account the desire of the "Mine Fund" to "continue support even after the support period has ended.
Unlike the "Step Up Grants" and "Innovation Grants," for which applications are solicited and reviewed broadly, we will make a comprehensive judgment based on information obtained from the adopted and supported projects, ongoing communication, and disclosed information, and will contact you to determine the recipients of your support.

Kenji Kasahara, Representative Director, Mine Foundation

This April marks the fifth anniversary of the "Mimane Foundation" which was launched in April 2020. During the past five years, the world has changed at a dizzying pace, beginning with the unprecedented difficulties of the Corona disaster. Even under such circumstances, I have learned a lot and been encouraged by the passion of non-profit organizations that are working on the front lines to solve problems for children and their families.
As we stand on the new starting line of incorporation, we strongly hope to build even deeper relationships of trust with the grantee organizations we have worked with in the past, and to meet and expand our circle of support to non-profit organizations that we have not yet had the opportunity to support. With a long-term perspective, we will contribute to the creation of a sustainable society filled with smiling children and their families.
About the "Mimete Fund
Background of Activities
The program was started in April 2020, when "Mitten" celebrated its 5th anniversary, with personal funds from Kenji Kasahara, Director and Founder of MIXI Corporation, the founder of "Family Album Mitten" (hereinafter "Mitten"), a children's video and photo sharing application provided by MIXI Corporation. Mite-ne provides funding and activity support to non-profit organizations working to resolve issues in the five areas of intractable diseases and disabilities, education, poverty, childbirth/childrearing, and abuse.
Mite-ne" was started with the desire to strengthen family ties and build a bridge of affection centering on children, and aims to be a place where children can share their growth with family members living far away, and through warm communication, children can feel loved and loved across generations. We aim to create a place where children can share their growth with families who live far away.
However, we feel that there are many families in the world who are facing various difficulties such as illness, poverty, and abuse. We have started our activities with the hope that we can help create a world in which all children and their families can live happily.

Valuing ideas
The Mimine Foundation has always been committed to the same principle of trust as its grantees, an approach based on Trust-Based Philanthropy.
Although we are on different sides of the issue - one provides funds to solve social problems and the other uses them - we believe that we are friends who are working together through trial and error to achieve a world in which all children and their families can live happily. That is why we have been conscious of and committed to providing support that is easy for recipient organizations to use and easy for them to operate, such as support tailored to their circumstances, multi-year grant periods, provision of relatively large funds, flexible use of funds, and emphasis on future results rather than on plans at the time of application.
