Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation introduces "childcare leave support allowance" for employees who take over the duties of employees on childcare leave.

The Organization for Small & Medium Enterprises and Regional Innovation, Japan (President: Tadashi Miyagawa, Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo) has introduced a new "Childcare Leave Support Allowance" with the aim of promoting the creation of a workplace environment that facilitates childcare leave.

Purpose of Introduction

To support employees in raising their children, ETIC has been working to create a gender-neutral environment and to promote the use of the system. By introducing the "Childcare Leave Support Allowance," we aim to reduce the burden on employees who take over the duties of employees who take childcare leave for an extended period of time, and to promote the creation of a workplace environment in which it is easy to take childcare leave.

Overview of Childcare Leave Support Allowance

Grantee:Employees who have taken over the duties of an employee taking childcare leave

Contents:50,000 yen will be added to the bonus (one time only) for employees who meet all of the following requirements for employees who cover the duties for which the employee taking childcare leave was responsible.

  • Employees of the same section/office must take childcare leave for at least three months.
  • The employee must have been in charge of the duties of a person on childcare leave in addition to his/her existing duties for at least three months in principle, as a substitute.
  • No replacement of staff, etc., for more than 3 months.
  • In principle, no more than five persons are eligible for the allowance for each person on childcare leave.
