Kakogawa City (Mayor Yasuhiro Okada) in Hyogo Prefecture is promoting a "Smart City" initiative to solve local problems through the use of digital technology. In order to further enhance its smart city initiatives, Kakogawa City is building a "wide-area watch-over detection application" that focuses solely on detection functions, with support from the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, in order to increase the number of detection points outside of the city.
With the aim of developing a wide-area monitoring service, the city has requested cooperation from neighboring municipalities and will conduct a demonstration experiment of a "wide-area monitoring service" together with Miki City and Sanda City.
Outline of the Demonstration Experiment
Period
By March 31, 2025 (scheduled)

Contents
The "Mimamori" service is a service that sends location information from a detector or smartphone application that detects the location of a person wearing a special tag, allowing family members and others to check on the person's location. This service is used to watch over people with dementia and children.
In this demonstration experiment, cooperating parties recruited from each city will be asked to carry the tags to verify their functionality and detection by the smartphone application.

Background leading to wide-area collaboration
Kakogawa City, which has long provided "watch-over" services within the city, approached neighboring cities and towns about participating in the verification experiment with the aim of enhancing the effectiveness of the project and helping to solve social issues over a wide area, and Miki City and Sanda City readily agreed to participate.
Based on the results of this demonstration, we aim to start wide-area commercialization in 2025.
