Baby Shower Japan Incorporated Association (Location: Minami-Aoyama, Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Maasa Ikegami) http://www.babyshower.jp/ (hereinafter referred to as "BABYSHOWER JAPAN") will open a community-type "parents' class" "BABYSHOWER JAPAN Childbirth Class" (hereinafter referred to as "BCC") in January 2024, where parents before and after childbirth can solve their problems related to childbirth and childcare. BCC", a community-type "parents' class" where parents can resolve their concerns about childbirth and childcare before and after childbirth.

BCC" is an online community where parents with various questions and concerns can gather to learn from professionals about health care for mothers and children during childbirth, childcare knowledge for a smooth return to work after childbirth, and other topics. This is an online community-type parents' class where parents can learn from professionals and get to know other community members.

The monthly seminar lasts approximately one and a half hours in total. The first half of the seminar consists of a 40-minute presentation by a different professional each month, and the second half consists of 20 minutes of free time for socializing, interspersed with live commercials by MCs introducing the services and products of sponsor companies, and corporate promotion time with giveaways of childcare goods and corporate coupons. We are still accepting sponsorship applications for 2024.

Each seminar is held for 20 to 40 participants, depending on the content. Seminar content varies each month, and participants are free to attend any seminar that interests them, with seminar variations available for both mothers and fathers.

Free social time will be held in small rooms of 10 people each, allowing participants to make friends within the community. During the childbirth and child-rearing period, which tends to be a lonely time, this is also a time to discuss your daily questions and concerns with the community members and senior mothers who will be facilitating the event.

Thoughts on the Founding of the BCC

Comparing the number of dual-earner and full-time housewife households, there was not much difference between the two in the 2000s, but today there are overwhelmingly more dual-earner households. Meanwhile, the birthrate is declining faster than expected. It is not difficult to imagine that one of the reasons for this is the difficulty in balancing work and child rearing.

In the United States, which has a relatively high fertility rate among developed countries, about 50% of households are dual-earner households, while in Japan, about 68% of households are dual-earner (and about 40% of households have children). The Gender Gap Index, which has become a hot topic in recent years, shows that among the G7 (seven major countries), Germany (6th), the UK (15th), Canada (30th), France (40th), the US (43rd), and Italy (79th) follow, with Japan (125th) at the bottom. In Asia, the Philippines (16th), Singapore (49th), Vietnam (72nd), and Thailand (74th) are in the upper to middle ranks, while Japan is also below Korea (105th) and China (107th).

It is not easy to solve the two problems at the same time, but it is important to improve the literacy and awareness of mothers themselves, their partners and other family members who are physically limited by childbirth, as well as of all organizations that employ women who give birth and raise children. There is no doubt that the importance of raising literacy and awareness in creating a childcare environment is critical.

The BCC will not only share and practice the latest knowledge on how to raise children with peace of mind, but also resolve misunderstandings and misconceptions about the physical burden on mothers before and after childbirth, and dispel the pain of adherence to breast milk and homemade weaning food. The classes will be developed with the involvement of childbearing mothers and the companies where they work, in order to transform the society into one in which women can "live their own lives even after giving birth and raising children with peace of mind.

Full range of seminar content and lecturers

BCC will provide online content that will be a source of childcare literacy and awareness. In addition to professional lecturers, BCC plans to offer seminars that will feature human resource managers from various companies, who will provide consultation on a smooth return to the workplace. We will offer a full program that cannot be fully catered for by local government or obstetrics and gynecology parent classes.

We will also target parents who are eager to return to work after childbirth, so please contact us for customized seminars that can be attended on a corporate basis.

We will create a community that will be supported by many participants and sponsors.
