Mitsui Fudosan and ShareTomorrow open "YASMO Musashi Kosugi," the first temporary childcare center in the private sector with a rest room for mothers and fathers.

Aiming to create a community where it is easy to raise children by addressing the issue of orphaned children.

- The following is content from the press release -

(Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Shun Ueda) and ShareTomorrow Inc. (Head Office: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Norihisa Ishikawa) have launched YASMO, the first private company to offer temporary childcare with a rest room for mothers and fathers*, and will open its first location, "YASMO Musashi The first YASMO Musashi Kosugi location will open on January 15, 2024 (Monday).

By providing urban mothers and fathers with a place where they can rest and have time for themselves while taking care of their children, and by creating a town where it is easy to raise children, we will contribute to the fight against declining birthrates and the promotion of D&I in Japan.

[Key points of this release.

  • In urban areas, the number of households raising children without the support of their parents is increasing due to the shift to nuclear families, and "solitary child-rearing" has become one of the issues of Japan's worsening birthrate decline. On the other hand, many people do not use temporary childcare services because they feel uncomfortable leaving their infants or being away from their children.
  • To solve these issues, Mitsui Fudosan will launch "YASMO," a new style of childcare service that provides temporary childcare services and private rooms for rest and relaxation in the same store, allowing customers to spend their own time with their children in close proximity and peace of mind.
  • The features of YASMO are as follows
Childcare is available for children from 3 months old to preschool age.
Providing a fun time through creative play and special play equipment.
Three types of rest rooms are available for mothers and fathers.
Rates are 1,650 yen (tax included) per 30 minutes, from a minimum of 30 minutes to a maximum of 4 hours.
  • YASMO" will focus on areas where Mitsui Fudosan has been developing residential and commercial facilities. YASMO will provide not only hardware but also software services that meet the needs of the times and people, aiming to contribute to the creation of a town that continues to be close to people's lives and where they want to continue to live.

*First childcare facility in the private sector to have a rest room for parents and to provide rest support (according to our own research).

Rest room for moms and dads

YASMO Overview

We have created an environment where mothers and fathers can spend their time with their children in close proximity and peace of mind.

Childcare staff are stationed in the temporary childcare space to take good care of your child. While children are being cared for, mothers and fathers can relax in the adjoining rest room.

1. 3 types of rest rooms to choose from

Three types of rest rooms, "Nemuro," "Komoro," and "Hoguso," are available for mothers and fathers who need a good night's rest. Each rest room has its own special amenities and goods. All rest rooms share a wood-toned, peaceful space with reclining beds that lead to a comfortable sleeping position, and relaxing background music to help you sleep peacefully.

2. childcare at YASMO

The spatial concept of the "Fureao" area for children is "Sence of wonder / A great adventure on a deserted island! The space is designed for children to have a great adventure on an uninhabited island. We have prepared wooden toys and other items with a special feel. Children can play in a space where they can be surprised and moved by the toys. After using our service, we will inform you of your child's progress in our care with a childcare card. We also offer seasonal and age-appropriate production play*, where you and your child will work together on a production that will serve as a record of your child's growth.

*The "Play with Creation" service is available only for those who stay for more than 2 hours.

Thoughts behind the service name

Children grow up quickly. I want to love every moment of my life, which is only now. Yet, I feel frustrated that I cannot give my all to my children, my family, and myself. If only I had more time. If only I had more time.

Moms and dads are the ones who need more rest. I want them to calm down and rest, even if only for a moment. I want them to rely on someone else and have some time for themselves." Moms and dads need more rest, too." That's what we want to call this service "YASMO".

YASMO" is a project born out of the Mitsui Fudosan Group's "MAG!C" business proposal system, and the two proposers are former participants in the project who experienced orphanage.

This system was established in fiscal 2018 with the aim of taking the "fantasy" of each employee of the Group and sublimating it into a "concept" and "realization" with the involvement of the Company, and through such innovation, aiming to become an "industrial developer" platform that goes beyond the framework of a "real estate developer". The proposer will be in charge of the project and will be responsible for the project. In principle, proposers are responsible for their own projects and promote the projects they propose. YASMO" is another project originating from "MAG!
