Sen, Inc. conducted a survey on parents' awareness of grandparents' assistance in raising children. No. 1 thing parents would like grandparents to assist with: "Necessary items for entering school and starting kindergarten, such as school backpacks."

(headquartered in Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo; Nobuaki Chiba, President & CEO; hereinafter referred to as "the Company") conducted a survey of 2,680 parents with preschool, kindergarten, or school-aged children on their attitudes toward grandparents' childcare assistance.

 When parents were asked about the assistance they currently receive from their grandparents for childcare-related items and expenses, the most common response was "toys" (49.10%), followed by "clothing, coats, and other clothing" (40.97%), and " Food" (32.20%) followed. Furthermore, when asked about items and expenses related to child-rearing that they would like their grandparents to help with or would be happy to receive assistance from their grandparents, the most common response was "school bags and other items needed for entering kindergarten" (35.41%), followed by "expenses for events such as the seven-five-three festival" (30.52%). The results show that many respondents expect assistance for events related to child-rearing.
 When comparing the difference in points between the assistance they currently receive from their grandparents and the assistance they expect to receive from their grandparents, the largest difference was in "toys," with those who actually receive assistance (49.10%) compared to those who said they would like to receive assistance (21.72%), a difference of [ -27.38] points. -27.38]. The largest difference between those who expected assistance and those who actually received it was in the area of "fees to pay for school, such as enrollment fees," with respondents wanting assistance (18.06%) compared to those who received assistance (3.58%), a difference of [+14.48] points.
