("Rakuten Mobile") and Hana Holdings, Inc. ("Hana Holdings") announce the launch of an initiative to promote "next-generation ICT nurseries" utilizing cutting-edge ICT and AI technologies. This initiative aims to improve the quality of childcare by using AI and IoT devices to solve the pressing issues facing the childcare industry, such as human resource shortages and increased workload.
Through this initiative, Hana Holdings plans to open Hana Nursery Komakihara (tentative name) on Saturday, November 1, 2025, utilizing Rakuten Mobile's corporate DX package.
In recent years, delays in the introduction of DX and ICT have remained an issue in the childcare industry. In particular, human resource shortages and increased workloads have become serious problems, and the increase in paperwork required to deal with government agencies and parents has put pressure on the time that daycare workers have to spend with children. In response to this situation, Rakuten Mobile will support the use of solution services based on communication infrastructure at daycare centers to support DX promotion. Hana Holdings will utilize Rakuten Mobile's solution services to create a model nursery school that will serve as a leading case for DX in the industry as a whole.
Hana Nursery Komakihara (tentative name), which is scheduled to open, will realize a new form of childcare through Rakuten Mobile's solution services.
Enhanced monitoring of preschoolers through AI and IoT: Creating a safer and more secure environment
The AI-powered cloud camera "Safie One" will be installed to constantly monitor all areas of the preschool, automatically issuing alerts when the AI detects an abnormality and assisting childcare staff in responding quickly. This ensures the safety of preschool children and provides an environment where parents can leave their children with peace of mind.
Improvement of digital literacy: To create an environment where on-site staff can naturally use technology to further enhance the quality of childcare services.
Based on KŌSOKU Access, an Internet connection service that provides a high-speed, stable communication environment, ICT devices within the preschool will be seamlessly linked. This will facilitate the smooth introduction of various devices and reduce the administrative workload of childcare workers, such as daily records and the preparation of communication documents for parents, with the aim of improving the quality of childcare services.
Streamlining and automating operations: Maximize the time that childcare workers and other staff spend with children.
The AI-based space management system "Rakuten NEO" simplifies environmental management within the park, including access control using QR codes and automatic air conditioning and lighting control using sensors. This streamlines cumbersome tasks and significantly reduces the burden on staff.
In addition, the AI interpreter "Pocket Talk" is utilized to enable smooth communication with foreign childcare workers. Multilingual correspondence with parents can also be smoothly carried out to meet diverse needs.
