~Akachan Honpo's unique approach to support moms and dads
- The following is content from the press release -
(Head office: Chuo-ku, Osaka City) https://www.akachan.jp(hereinafter referred to as "Akachan") has produced a "Little Baby Support Book" as part of its "Little Baby Support Service" to support "Little Babies" weighing less than 2,500 grams and their families who watch them grow up. The book will be available at Akachan Honpo stores nationwide from July 2025.

The "Little Baby Support Service," launched in April this year, provides families with a newborn baby with shopping support by offering 3,000 yen worth of QUO CARD PAY, which can be used at Akachan Honpo, and an X post service that allows direct consultation with a midwife. The company has also developed a post service at X that allows customers to consult directly with midwives.
In addition, the "Little Baby Point Support Program," in which Akachan Honpo app members can support Little Baby and his/her family with points, is also being implemented.
We have newly produced a "Little Baby Support Book" to help little baby families and encourage positive parenting.
The report includes parenting tips and supportive comments based on responses to a questionnaire from approximately 1,000 senior mothers and fathers who have raised little babies, and also includes a device that allows you to record your baby's growth at his or her own pace.
Background of Initiatives
In Japan, the number of "little babies" born weighing less than 2,500 grams is one in ten, which is one of the highest rates among OECD countries*¹. While medical advances are being made and local governments are providing child-rearing support, the Maternal and Child Health Handbook distributed by local municipalities is based on the assumption of a standard birth weight, and the growth curve may not match that of a little baby, causing families to become increasingly concerned.
Therefore, in addition to medical and childcare support, we believe that it is necessary to provide emotional support for little babies who are growing up trying their best and touching the words of senior mothers and fathers to help them move toward a brighter future for their own children, which is why we produced the Little Baby Support Book.
The "Little Baby Support Service" is our unique initiative to provide comprehensive support for "little babies" and their families, from financial concerns to daily childcare and emotional care*².
Akachan Honpo's corporate message is "Smile Raising Your Child. Akachan Honpo, whose corporate message is "Smile Childcare, Akachan Honpo", will continue to strive to create a society where mothers and fathers can raise their children with peace of mind as a company that is close to and supports mothers and fathers.
