Rehabilitation Center Ekold adopts Sorakame to improve quality of support and employee growth.

Visualize children's safety and security with real-time viewing and cloud recording

- The following is content from the press release -

(Headquarters: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President: Ken Tamagawa) announces that its cloud-based camera service "SOLACAME" has been adopted by "Rehabilitation Center Ekold" (Ikeda City, Osaka Prefecture; Director and Rehabilitation Center Director: Nozomi Nakayama), a rehabilitation facility operated by D&I Co. (Ikeda City, Osaka, Japan).

At the Rehabilitation Center Ekold, specialized staff members provide individualized rehabilitation programs for children aged 1 to 6 with characteristics of intellectual and motor development. In the field of support, the close relationship with the children sometimes leads to unexpected problems, and explaining the situation to the guardians and the mental burden on the employees has become an issue. In recent years, strengthening safety measures, such as responding to suspicious persons and preventing accidents in the facility, and improving the transparency of support have also become important themes.

Against this backdrop, we have created an environment that enables constant visualization of conditions in the facility by introducing SOLACAME, which supports real-time viewing and cloud recording. Through the use of video images, we have achieved multifaceted benefits, such as ensuring the safety of children, strengthening the relationship of trust with their parents, and improving the support skills of employees.

What we achieved by introducing the system

The facility has seven cameras installed in each room at various angles so that the center manager can check on the children in real time on multiple tablets. For example, in one case where a child made an unexpected move when an employee took their eyes off the child for a moment, the center manager detected the dangerous behavior through the cameras and contacted the staff via smartphone, preventing an accident before it happened. In addition, by using cloud recording to share video of the situation with parents, explanations that do not rely on subjectivity can be provided, and parents' sense of security and satisfaction has also been improved.

Furthermore, a mechanism has been created to help professional staff members grow by reviewing their support. In fact, we have begun to receive comments from employees such as "I want to review my own responses on video" and "I want the center manager to provide guidance," showing improvement in both the quality of support and staff motivation.

User Comments

The more seriously we take the support of children, the more likely trouble is to occur. With video, we can smoothly explain the situation to the guardians in the event of an emergency, and our employees can actively support the children without shrinking. The introduction of SOLACAME has changed the awareness and behavior of our employees, and the quality of our support has also improved.
