Electronic Medication Record Book Service Available from "Maternal and Child Health Record Book" Application "Maternal and Child Health Record Book".

~A new form of maternal and child health care that smoothly links childcare and medical care by consolidating and managing medication information for parents and children in a single application.

- The following is content from the press release -

(headquartered in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Daiki Miyamoto, President; hereinafter "MCHM") and MTI Corporation (headquartered in Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; Toshihiro Maeta, President; hereinafter "MTI") began offering MTI's electronic medication organizer service, MCHM's "MCHM Oyaku Techo" ("MCHM Oyaku Techo"), to MCHM's MCHM application on May 13 (Tuesday). MTI's electronic medication organizer service, "Maternity Mo Medication Record Book Powered by CARADA" (hereinafter "Maternity Mo Medication Record Book"), has been available since Tuesday, May 13, 2012.

The MCHM Medication Record Book*1 easily records and manages prescription medications for parents and children registered in MCHM by reading QR codes on medical statements issued by pharmacies or by taking photographs. In addition to improving convenience for parents, this system also leads to continuous and consistent support when multiple professionals such as doctors, pharmacists, and public health nurses are involved, and supports the creation of a more secure environment for child-rearing.

About 70% of expectant and nursing mothers want to use the Electronic Medication Record Book service! The service is now available through the "MCHMO" application.

In a survey*2 conducted by MTI in 2024 among expectant and nursing mothers, 66.71% of respondents answered "very much / somewhat likely" to the question "Would you like to use a service (application) that allows you to manage your own or your child's medication book on your smartphone?" 66.71% of respondents answered "strongly/ somewhat agree" to the question "Would you like to use a service (application) that allows you to manage your own or your child's medication registers on your smartphone? On the other hand, only 10.8% of the respondents actually use the e-Medicine Notebook service.

In response to this need for electronic medication notebook services among many expectant and nursing mothers, "MCHMo" has added a service linkage function that enables use of MTI's electronic medication notebook service, "MCHMo Oyakutecho," and began offering this service on May 13, 2012 (Tuesday).

Parents using "MCHMo" can use the "MCHMo Medication Record Book" by selecting "Medication Record Book" from the home screen of the application. By consolidating information from the MCHM and the Medication Record Book into a single application, the burden of operation and the complexity of record keeping associated with the use of multiple applications are eliminated, thereby enhancing convenience for parents and guardians.

Transition from the "Maternal and Child Health" application to the Electronic Medication Record Book (E-Medicine Notebook) directly. Easy recording and management of prescription drugs!

The "MCHMo Medication Record Book" allows parents and guardians to individually record and manage prescription medications for each child registered in the "MCHMo" system. Prescription drugs can be recorded by reading the QR code on the dispensing slip or by taking a photograph, eliminating the need to manually enter detailed dispensing information. It is also possible to check the efficacy, dosage, and other details of drugs registered with QR codes, and to record side effects and other information for each prescription by oneself.

In addition, some municipalities and regions have introduced functions to make more convenient use of the Medication Record Book, such as a "dispensing appointment function" that reduces waiting time at pharmacies by sending prescriptions to pharmacies in advance from the "MCH Mo Medication Record Book" and "automatic medication registration" that automatically records prescription medications from favorite registered pharmacies in the application. The application is being introduced ahead of its competitors.

A survey conducted by several municipalities that have introduced the "Child Rearing DX" "Companion Consultation Support Service," which can be used as an additional function of "MCHMo," showed that more than 90%*3 of the respondents applied for pregnancy notification via the application, indicating that "MCHMo" is highly utilized by these municipalities. The results of the survey showed that more than 90%*3 of the respondents applied for pregnancy notification using the application. In the future, we plan to add functions to reduce all the hassles associated with the medication handbook for pharmacies and parents by utilizing national and regional big data related to maternal and child health. Through these efforts, we aim to further improve convenience for the child-rearing generation and enhance the quality of maternal and child health care support throughout the community.
