We are pleased to announce the official establishment of the Technology Council for the Advancement of Women on January 30, 2025. A press conference on the establishment and policy recommendations was held and attended by many members of the press and participating companies.

purpose of establishment
In Japan, there is still a lack of a workplace environment in which women can fully demonstrate their abilities. The high percentage of women in non-regular employment and the fact that many women are forced to transition from regular to non-regular employment after pregnancy, childbirth, or childcare seriously affect their careers.
In addition, depending on their stage of life, women face diverse challenges such as menstrual pain, menopause-specific symptoms, pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, all of which can hinder their success in the workplace.
Technology Council for the Advancement of WomenWith the aim of resolving these issues, the "Women's Career Development Initiative" (hereinafter referred to as "WFI") is a public-private partnership that brings together diverse industries and organizations to encourage women's career development and work style reform through innovative technologies and system reforms. By doing so, we will realize an environment in which women can maximize their abilities and contribute to the revitalization and strengthening of the competitiveness of society as a whole.

For the purpose of promoting women's activities, we will appeal for setting high target levels for female directors and executives, building a comfortable working environment for women according to their life stages, strengthening support for women-specific problems such as PMS and menstrual pain, and reflecting this in the revised Women's Activity Promotion Bill.
- Setting high target standards:. Further increase the target percentage of female board members, female managers, and entrepreneurs
- Creating a work environment conducive to women:. Tax incentives for companies introducing FemTech, promotion of introduction of FemTech for female public servants by the government and local governments, joint research by the National Center for Women's Health and the CIPP, etc.
- Comprehensive support for PMS and menstrual pain:.Promote understanding of PMS and menstrual pain among women in companies; improve quality and expand convenience of online medical services for women-specific problems
- Strengthening efforts at Osaka Expo:. Thorough implementation of "women-friendly working environment" at the Expo, introduction of technology, and creation of a comfortable working environment, especially for female volunteers.
- Reflection on the revised Women's Activity Promotion Bill:. Reflect and accelerate the promotion of the above in the revised Women's Activity Promotion Bill to be submitted to the ordinary Diet session in FY2013 and in the Women's version of the policy.
