NPO Himawari no Kai launches "Maternal and Child Health Handbook Digital Edition" Council Committee.

~ Strengthening cooperation with five midwives' collaborative organizations to deepen and accelerate support for expectant and nursing mothers

December 4, 2024, Tokyo, Japan

The NPO Himawari no Kai (Chairman: Seiko Noda, Location: Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo), in cooperation with five midwives' cooperative organizations, will establish a new council committee for the "Maternal and Child Health Handbook Digital Edition" in order to further strengthen support for expectant mothers and promote advanced and widespread perinatal care using digital technology.

By utilizing the digital version of the Maternal and Child Health Handbook, this Council will promote comprehensive support for perinatal care, health, and welfare by establishing a foundation for smooth information sharing and access to support for expectant mothers and healthcare professionals nationwide. In addition, this initiative is,As a tool for midwives supporting childbirth and childcare in Japan to connect with all expectant mothers (so that no one is left behind)The program will contribute to the realization of a safe and secure environment for childbirth and childcare by enabling seamless care from pregnancy to the postpartum period and eliminating regional disparities.

The Council members will bring their expertise in their respective fields to advance the distribution and use of information through digital tools, improve the quality of evidence-based midwifery care, and strengthen collaboration with related institutions and organizations. In this way, we will create synergy with advanced domestic and international examples and policy initiatives in the field of maternal and child health, and contribute to the creation of a sustainable perinatal care environment.

Maternal and Child Health Handbook Digital Edition will continue to be enhanced as a useful maternal support application for expectant and nursing mothers through the realization of new services.
