Ltd., a Mitsui Fudosan Group company, operates YASMO, a temporary childcare service with a rest room for mothers and fathers, in order to solve the social problem that many parents are burdened physically and psychologically while raising their children.
As part of this project, we have produced a picture book, "Sloth's Manekko Taiso (Sloth's Manekko Taiso)," which helps moms and dads relax through reading aloud to their children. Social Issues Tackled by YASMO
The declining birthrate, a social issue that YASMO is addressing, is the biggest problem facing our country.
In 2024, the total fertility rate will be 1.20 and the number of births will be 727,277, both record lows, and population decline is accelerating. If this rapid decline in birthrate and population is not halted, it will have a major impact on our nation's economy and society.
Today, many parents are responsible for all aspects of child rearing and feel a great physical and psychological burden. There is also a widespread negative attitude that childrearing is demanding and requires self-sacrifice. The number one reason for not having the ideal number of children is the financial burden and inability to afford it, and the number two reason is an inability to bear the physical and psychological burden of child rearing (23%).

Why create picture books?
Through picture books, I would like to convey the importance of taking a rest.
For this reason, we have created a picture book that puts you to sleep. The story of "Sloth Manekko Taiso" is about a sloth who falls asleep while imitating the cute characters in the book. The story incorporates yoga movements so that the child can move his/her body and relax his/her mind. The story was created with the hope that reading a picture book as a form of communication with children would provide an opportunity for mothers and fathers to go to sleep together.
We would like to bring good night to as many moms and dads as possible by spreading this picture book through your support. We would be happy if we can create a movement to encourage and support good night sleep.
