Shichida Institute of Education and Sony Global Education have launched a business alliance to offer programming courses in 2020, and have been developing a programming course for young children [Shichida Programming Course] using KOOV®, a robot programming learning kit, at Shichida-style classrooms nationwide. The company has been offering the "Shichida Programming Course" at Shichida-style schools nationwide.
This time, we have reexamined the question of what kind of skills children will need when they become adults. We agreed on the need for educational materials that nurture the "ability to do math" in early childhood, which is the foundation of the "ability to live" and "ability to think logically," and have been working together to develop new digital educational materials.
The "Shichida Digital Learning Program with LOGIQ LABO," which will be available from today, is the first digital learning material for Shichida Kyoiku Kenkyujo, incorporating the content of Sony Global Education's "LOGIQ LABO®" home learning service for elementary school students and Shichida Kyoiku Kenkyujo's know-how on early childhood education. Overview of the Shichida Digital Learning Program with LOGIQ LABO
The Shichida Digital Learning Program with LOGIQ LABO will launch four different products (courses) targeting children from youngest to preschool age.
In addition to Shichida's original problems based on over 65 years of know-how, Sony Global Education has created new problems for infants from its commercialized "LOGIQ LABO" for elementary school students. The new digital materials nurture children's imagery, calculation, thinking, and spatial awareness skills through movements that could not be achieved with paper-based materials.
Five features of the Shichida Digital Learning Program with LOGIQ LABO
(1) 10-15 minutes a day to develop study habits
By developing study habits before entering elementary school, students can enjoy learning without feeling that studying is a chore. It is especially important for young children to develop good study habits.
Through the LOGIQ LABO, students will naturally develop a study habit by continuing to learn for 10 to 15 minutes a day.
(2) Approximately 3,000 math problems that stimulate "wanting to do more" and never get boring! (Total number of problems in 4 courses)
The program builds a solid foundation in arithmetic with approximately 3,000 varied questions on "spatial awareness," "arithmetic thinking," "arithmetic application," and so on!
By solving a wide range of problems, students will acquire not only calculation skills but also the ability to think and visualize.
(3) A natural learning flow that can be continued every day
Daily stamps are earned by completing daily assignments, and avatars in the learning application can be customized freely with points accumulated based on the number of problems solved. The ability to see "I've done this far" motivates children and encourages them to study more independently.
(4) Customize questions according to your child's strengths and weaknesses
Curriculum can be automatically generated by AI or freely customized at the discretion of the family.
(5) Parents' app delivers daily growth to your smartphone
