Easily installable, gender-neutral private rooms, and installed baby care rooms whose usage status can be monitored via an app, are expanding to bullet train stations, aquariums, and public facilities!
- The following is content from the press release -
Trim Corporation (Yokohama, Japan; President: Yusuke Hasegawa) has developed and marketed the "mamaro(TM)️" baby care room, which has been installed in commercial facilities, bullet trains, private railway stations, hospitals, and shrines throughout Japan, reaching 600 units installed by November 2023.
We are introducing "mamaro(TM)️" as social infrastructure, and are also developing and testing a new product, "outdoor-type mamaro (tentative name)," which can be installed outdoors. We will continue to evolve to contribute to the creation of a society where people can easily go out with their small children.
Installation is expanding to railroad stations and airports. Growing need for private rooms that can be used by all genders.
mamaro(TM)️" is a baby care room about the size of one tatami mat that can be installed without any construction work. It is designed with casters and can be easily moved. The mamaro(TM)️ is increasingly being used in facilities that do not have space for nursing, milking, diaper changing, etc., as well as in facilities that already have a nursing room, but are now installing it for the purpose of making it more convenient for people with children.
Due to this growing interest, we expect to exceed 600 units installed in just under two years, the highest annual number of units installed since the company's founding, after reaching a cumulative total of 300 units installed at the end of October 2021.
Installation is expanding to include commercial facilities, municipal government buildings, entertainment facilities such as aquariums, zoos, and baseball stadiums, airports, railroad stations mainly for Shinkansen and Kanto private railways, medical facilities, and shrines.
While there is a growing interest in men's participation in childcare, many nursing rooms are set up as women-only spaces for security reasons, and there is little space for men to feed milk or change diapers, etc. Therefore, it is essential to provide facilities where anyone can provide baby care on the go. Therefore, it is essential to provide facilities where anyone can take care of babies on the go. We will continue to promote the installation of "mamaro(TM)️" as social infrastructure.
Comment from Mr. Keishi Shibuya, Mayor of Kiyose City
Congratulations on the 600th installation of "mamaro(TM)️", an installation type baby care room.
Kiyose City had a nursing room, but there are restrictions on the hours of use and from citizens,
We have received comments that it is difficult to use the room and that it is not a completely private room.
It is multifunctional to solve these issues and to meet the needs of the users and their requirements.
Four "mamaro(TM)️" units were installed, which can be moved after installation.
Kiyose City has made it an important policy to create a town where it is easy to raise children, and we would like to encourage our citizens to use "mamaro(TM)️" where they can spend time without anxiety or concern.
(*In Kiyose City, four locations will be established on October 30, 2023: Kiyose Keyaki Hall, Shimojyuku Community Center, Noshio Community Center, and Matsuyama Community Center)
Yusuke Hasegawa, President of Trim Corporation comments
What's a nursing room? Why not just use the multipurpose restroom?" When we first launched mamaro(TM)️, the reaction was very cold. When we earnestly tried to address the issue of baby care rooms, we were sometimes told, "You should build a smoking room instead of such a thing. However, "mamaro(TM)️" is now installed in many commercial and municipal facilities, as well as railroad and roadside stations. This is due in no small part to the efforts of companies and local governments who wish to improve the child-rearing environment. We are grateful for the warm wishes of everyone who has made "mamaro(TM)️" possible. We will continue to strive for a world full of smiling children and families.
Campaign launched for prefectures that have not yet installed the system, aiming to install the system in 47 prefectures.
To commemorate the 600-unit milestone, a campaign will be held for prefectures that do not currently have "mamaro(TM)️" in operation, offering the option (blower VS-S70) for free.
