(Head Office: Shinjuku-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Kyotaro Sekinada) will start a new "Shonen" course for children born between April 2, 2020 and April 1, 2021, in the Smile Zemi Preschool Course, a correspondence course taught with tablets, on February 16, 2024 (Friday). By the age of 3, when more children enter kindergartens and nursery schools, they are interacting more actively with their surroundings, and many parents begin to think about having their children learn something. According to the survey*, although it is still too early for children to be ready for elementary school, parents want their children to be gradually introduced to hiragana and numbers through play, to develop social skills to interact with friends, and to acquire the habit of learning on their own. In the new "Younger Children" course, we will provide teaching materials so that children can enjoy their first learning experience on their own and develop a desire to "do more.

*Surveyed by Fastask: 2,045 women aged 30-44 with young children, period: December 12 to December 14, 2022.

Providing educational materials that allow students to experience the joy of learning because it is their first time learning.

In the new "Younger" course, we have prepared teaching materials in a total of eight areas, including "Hiragana" and "Kazu" (which will be necessary in the future), "Chie" and "Shizen" (to broaden interest and develop thinking skills), "Seikatsu" (to learn social skills), and "Eigo" (to experience native English pronunciation). When turned on, the system presents the course to be tackled in "Today's Mission". All explanations and questions are read aloud, and screen operations are guided by animation and sound, so that young children can proceed with their studies on their own. They learn social skills while having fun by touching 3D shapes and watching videos on number order and tooth brushing. The program automatically circles problems solved on the spot, and encourages children to recognize the causes of mistakes, thus helping them learn the joy of learning while respecting their self-esteem.

Pressure detection system allows "correct writing" even when learning to write for the first time

Because this is the timing to write hinagana for the first time, students learn from the habit of holding the pen correctly. Based on the learning data that the more firm the writing pressure is, the more beautifully the characters can be written and the faster they can be learned, we provide high-level character learning using the "Writing Pressure Detection System" (patent pending). The system also helps students learn how to hold a pen correctly, the correct stroke order, and the ability to write carefully with proper pressure. Smile Zemi uses a triangular digitizer pen, which provides the same writing feel as a pencil.

Smile Zemi, Japan's first AI-based tablet-based distance learning program

Smile Zemi" is a correspondence course for infants, elementary school students, junior high school students, and high school students that was launched in 2012. While learning materials are taught on tablets, all courses from infant to high school students focus on "learning by writing," allowing students to write just as they would with paper and pencil, making learning stress-free and providing high quality learning results. In the infant course, the system allows children to enjoy learning on their own; in the elementary school course, the cycle encourages learning habits and textbook-compliant learning; in the junior high school course, the "tutorial-style learning" system allows each student to learn with the most appropriate study plan and materials; and in the high school course, the "strategic AI coach" provides learning that leads to success in the university of one's choice. In June 2023, we opened Smile Zemi, a home learning service for elementary school students in the United States.
