BTA2024 Award Winning Products Announced! Second round of judging underway!

PairChill, a talk app for single parents only, officially launches on App Store and Google Play. Member-only benefits are increasing.

- The following is content from the press release -

General incorporated association (not-for-profit organization) that develops and operates "Pair Chill," a talk app for single parents only (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director: Shogo Minami), has officially released the talk app "Pair Chill" on the App Store and Google Play after passing the technical screening process.

The talk app "Pair Chill" was created by listening to the stories of numerous single mothers and single fathers and those who had been single parents at one time or another, and found that they were isolated from people, information, etc. and that "loneliness" was connected to all kinds of problems.

The application allows single parents to connect with other single parents in various circumstances based on basic information such as how they became single parents (divorced, bereaved, unmarried, etc.) and the tags that can be freely entered such as "# unmarried and unrecognized," "# has a son diagnosed with ADHD," "# has no support from his own parents," and so on. This is a talk application where single parents in various situations can connect with each other and casually chat and discuss about childcare, work, finances, household chores, etc.

Because the app is operated by a non-profit corporation, all features are available free of charge and without charge to single parents who are or were single parents at one time or another who are members of the app. We are also increasing the number of members-only special offers in cooperation with companies and other organizations that want to support single parents!

*The application is not available to anyone other than single parents or those who have been single parents at one time or another.

If you have any concerns or questions, please feel free to contact us.

This application has been developed and operated with the cooperation of the Kirin Welfare Foundation, Grassroots Citizens Fund Guran, single parent support groups and companies.

Talk App "Pair Chill" Member Testimonials

K. (Papa, 30s, Kanagawa, Japan)

I couldn't join the circle of moms at school, so being able to talk about childcare and work with dads in similar situations at Pair Chill brightens my spirits. I am happy to be able to chat with them for a while.

Ms. T. (Mom, 30s, Hyogo Prefecture)

Even if you ask for advice or complain, it is someone else's problem for those who have never experienced it. Even if it is your best friend, they cannot understand the true pain you are going through, and as a result, there were times when you felt that it was useless to talk about it. Therefore, it is a relief to be able to talk with someone who can understand my pain through PairTil.

Mr. M (Papa 20s, Osaka)

There were so many things I didn't understand about raising my daughter. It is really helpful to be able to get opinions from the moms I have met through PairChill. I feel like I am able to talk to them about raising my son instead, and I feel like we are helping each other raise our children.

Ms. O (mother in her 50s, Ibaraki Prefecture)

I registered in the hope that my experience of working hard to raise my children to adulthood would be useful to young mothers and fathers. It makes me happy to know that there are things I can do to help, and it makes me happy to be alive.

Mr. A (Papa, 40s, Tokyo)

When I take a break for a beer after putting the kids to bed, having someone to chat with and talk about my struggles on the app soothes my fatigue. It makes me feel like I can do my best again tomorrow.

E. (Mother in her 20s, Tokyo)

Immediately after my divorce, I wished I had someone to complain to, or so I thought many times every day. Just having someone to listen to me was a relief. It was a great relief to meet someone like that on the app.

App Features

You can easily find people in similar circumstances by searching based on profile information such as the number of children and their ages, as well as circumstance tags.

Even if you are busy and don't have time, you can find someone to talk to right away.

You can enter full profile information such as age, number of children, gender, how you became a single parent, and self-introductions of parents and children because it is a closed space.

You can learn about your partner's hobbies and values with the "Preferences and Views Card," which shows what you like, what you are interested in, and how you think about things such as child-rearing.

When you find someone you want to chat with, ask for advice, or encourage each other, you can talk with them privately via text and images.
The content of the talk is secured so that no one can see it.

If you are ever in an unsolicited situation, you can report it to the management, or block the other person so that he/she will not receive any messages or search for you.

Frequently Asked Questions

Q1. Can people who are not single parents use this service now?

PairTIL is open to anyone who is currently a single parent or has been a single parent in the past due to remarriage or other reasons.

However, as an exception, this service is available to those who cooperate in submitting documents that can prove that they are in the process of divorce mediation, etc.

Q2. Are there any conditions for using the application?

There are no requirements for nationality, age of parents and children, or gender.

The program is open to all current and former single parents (who are not currently single parents due to remarriage or other reasons).

Q3. Is it really free?

Yes! The program is completely free of charge for single parents and those who have been single parents at one time or another.

Our desire is that all single parents, regardless of income, etc., who are or were single parents at one time or another, use the application to chat and discuss child-rearing, household chores, work, relationships, etc. with each other.

Since the app is run by a non-profit corporation, it may be a little less user-friendly than apps made by companies with lots of money.

However, we will continue to operate with the sole promise that we will not take money from our members, so thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Q4. Who are the most frequent users of this application?

As of June 2023, 70% are women and 30% are men. The majority of our clients are 30~40 years old, but we have a wide range of clients in their teens to 70s.

Q5. Is it really only used by single parents?

Only those who agree that they are or were at one time a single parent and have verified their identity can use the application.

However, there are some people out there who use apps by cleverly lying, so if you see someone misusing the apps, please report it to the management.

We will withdraw the membership as soon as possible, and in some cases, we will take legal action.

We hope that everyone will be able to use the application safely and securely.

Q6. Can the management or other members see the contents of our talks?

The contents of your talk will not be seen by other members. The content of everyone's talk is encrypted so that even outsiders cannot see it.

However, the management can take appropriate procedures and confirm the contents of the talk in case of problems between members.

We do this because we need information that is "factual" in order to resolve the problem or in case legal action is required.

The management will never look at the contents of your talks on a daily basis. Please use the site with peace of mind.

Q7. Can I edit my profile?

Yes, you can edit your nickname, child support, visitation, and other items from My Page at any time.

Q8. Can I actually meet someone I've communicated with on the app?

We spoke with many single parents before developing the application.

Some of them have asked for someone to play with their children at the park, or someone to have a cup of tea with them in a short gap of time, etc. Based on the responsibility of our members, we can meet with them in person.

However, the management does not recommend romance through this application.

This app was created from the voices of single parents who are unable to discuss childcare, systems, etc., or who have no one to whom they can express their feelings of weakness at a moment's notice. If you are looking for romance, please use other apps.

Q9. What should I do if I don't know how to use the application?

Please feel free to contact us through "Notices/Requests to Management" in My Page Settings (gear icon).

About General Incorporated Association (Thoroughly Non-Profit Organization) Pair Chill

Our goal at PairTil is to make life easier for parents and children of single-parent families so that they can talk, eat, go out, etc. with a relaxed mind.

Some of the single parents we meet have time to spend with their children, but it is difficult for them to spend time talking with their children, watching TV, laughing with their children, eating dinner together, or going out to parks or leisure facilities.

They become increasingly restless and busy in their daily lives, which can cause them to be aggressive, abusive, or injurious to their children, endangering their lives and preventing their children's healthy growth.

However, it is by no means the case that it is all the parents' responsibility. Japanese society has become a structure in which many single parents are driven mentally and financially by the need to raise their children alone.

We have gathered together to create a business that will give single parents "peace of mind" and help their children grow up healthy, first by enabling them to live their lives in good spirits and with smiles on their faces.

We believe that maintaining a balance between these three factors will lead to a relaxed mindset. We believe that maintaining a balance between these three factors will lead to a relaxed mindset.

Even if you have friends you can trust, if your monthly income is around 100,000 yen, your family's finances will suffer and your mind will be driven into a corner. On the other hand, even if your annual income is around 6 million yen, you may feel lonely and lose your mental balance before you know it if you do not have friends you can trust.

That is why PairTil aims to weave "people, information, and work" with single parents to give them peace of mind.
