Safety device with confirmation when exiting the vehicle to help prevent leaving the vehicle unattended
(Ota-ku, Tokyo; President: Muneki Ishida), the domestic marketing division of Alps Alpine Electronics, Inc. (Ota-ku, Tokyo; President: Toshihiro Kuriyama), a developer, manufacturer, and seller of electronic components and automotive electronics products, announced today that it will start selling a new system to help prevent accidents involving children left behind on buses used to take children to and from kindergartens and nursery schools in Japan. The system will go on sale in July 2023.
Background of the project
In recent years, a number of accidents have occurred in which children have been left behind on buses used to take them to and from kindergartens and daycare centers. As a result, the installation of "safety devices to help prevent children from being left behind on buses" has become mandatory as of April 1, 2023, and subsidies (up to 175,000 yen per bus) have started to be provided for the installation of such devices.
In order to prevent such tragic accidents from happening again, we support the prevention of leaving children unattended in cars with a safety device that confirms when the child gets off the car.
Main Features
<Confirmation type safety device when exiting the vehicle
When the key switch (ignition key) is turned off, an in-vehicle inspection message is played to notify the driver. Preventing the vehicle interior from being overlooked for inspection.
After checking the inside of the vehicle, press and hold the "DASHUTE button" on the main unit to set the standby mode. In the standby mode, pressing the "DASHUTEKETE button" will send a loud message to the outside of the vehicle, demanding rescue.
A switch on the driver's seat announces when a child is getting in or out of the car. This system also alerts people while boarding and exiting the vehicle, where danger may be present.
