NTT East launches verification experiment for standardization of child abuse response and human resource development using a call-handling support system based on AI-related technologies.

Tokyo West Branch of Nippon Telegraph and Telephone East Corporation (Branch Manager: Tatsu Ueda, hereinafter "NTT East") has started a demonstration experiment using a telephone answering support system with AI-related technology (hereinafter "AI telephone answering support system") based on the "Collaborative Agreement on Demonstration Experiment for Standardization and Human Resources Development of Child Abuse Response" concluded on May 22, 2023 with Hachioji City (Mayor: Takashi Ishimori) and NTT TechnoCross Corporation (President and CEO: Eiji Kuwana, hereinafter "NTT TechnoCross"). (President: Eiji Kuwana, hereinafter "NTT Technocross") on May 22, 2023, the Company started a demonstration experiment using a telephone answering support system based on AI-related technologies (hereinafter "AI telephone answering support system").

Background and Objectives
The Hachioji City Child and Family Support Center is engaged in activities to support families in the community through comprehensive consultation on children and families in order to "prevent child abuse".
As the number of consultations on child abuse is on the rise, there is a need for early training of inexperienced counselors (staff). In addition, there are several consultation centers in the city, and prompt information sharing among them is also an issue.
To address these issues, we will conduct a demonstration experiment to utilize an AI telephone answering support system in child abuse response operations to improve the skills of responding staff, standardize responses, and realize remote monitoring of counselors.

Improvement of efficiency and quality of consultation services by converting voice data into text data, as well as human resource development of consultants
Standardization of responses by displaying a guidance function when answering the phone
Information sharing between remotely located offices
