In the early childhood education industry, where business improvement has become a hot topic in recent years, one of the challenges is that the ordering of teaching materials and equipment in the field of early childhood education has been dominated by telephone and fax, and there has been a significant delay in the systemization of business operations.
As of February 2023, there were 4,647 individual customers and 755 corporate customers, with the overwhelming majority being individual customers. One of the reasons for this was that there were few advantages for corporate customers, such as the fact that many of the products listed on the site were for individual customers. In order to contribute to the aforementioned business improvement in the field of early childhood education, we have decided to conduct a major renewal of the service.
There are three major contents of this renewal.
- Set up pages for individual and corporate clients
The establishment of a dedicated page for corporate customers will enable the listing of products used only at early childhood education sites, and will enable web-based ordering of teaching materials and teaching aids, which until now have been handled only by telephone or fax. - Simplified ordering process
Since most orders were placed by phone or fax, preschools had to search for products in catalogs and place orders during breaks between childcare hours, and there was also the hassle of placing orders when the phone line was disconnected. In the case of fax orders, the person in charge of ordering at the preschool had to prepare an order form each time an order was placed, and the preschools were forced to keep track of each other's paperwork, creating the risk of order omissions and missed orders.
Web ordering eliminates the need for paper management and reduces the risk of reciprocity by allowing orders to be placed 24 hours a day via PC or smartphone and linked to the company's order management system.
- Visualization of inventory status
Inquiries were made to the sales representatives in charge, who then went back to the head office to confirm inventory, which often took a long time to reply. The new system reduces the time loss when checking inventory by enabling online confirmation. In addition, the system is linked to the company's order management system and updates inventory status approximately every hour, allowing for near real-time confirmation. This helps to prevent out-of-stock items and order omissions that can occur during the busy season.
We also plan to offer other web-only products and periodic sales.
We will continue to develop services to reduce the workload of early childhood education sites as web ordering becomes the mainstream.
